So, does anyone else listen to Voltaire? He's kinda odd, but awesome. It's like.. folksy sounding stuff, but it deals with a lot of stuff like religion, lack of, demons, etc.

Seriously, I can't describe him right, but he's awesome. Download God Thinks and Goodnight Demon Slayer (arguably one of the best love songs ever alongside Sonata Arctica's Letter To Dana).

Oh, and Brains. if you ever watched The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, you've probably heard Brains because it was written specifically for an episode of the cartoon.

He's not a depressing kind of musician, though (except possibly "When I'm Down"), it's all really light-hearted and primarily ironic. He started out as an author/comic artist before moving into music, I think (although he still writes as well), and he was pretty much a post-modern goth, able to poke fun at himself and the old goth scene (check out his series "Oh My Goth!" or the song "Vampire Club", or to a lesser extent "Graveyard Picnic" and "Dead Girls"), before moving into more serious issues of love (most of his first album) and religion (most of the second).

I recommend him to everyone and anyone.

The USS Make Shit Up makes me laugh my ass off.

Yes. That song is the greatest. I'm not even a Star Trek fan and I adore that song, ESPECIALLY the verse about Voyager.

And "God Thinks" is a clever song that honestly isn't as depressing as it sounds.

"The USS Make Shit Up" is thoroughly wonderful, but I always preferred "The Sexy Data Tango". It's hilarious whether you're a Star Trek fan or not, just because of the utterly ridiculous forced innuendo.

EDIT: Also, he's recently covered "China Girl" for a David Bowie tribute album, it's on his Myspace. Along with Lovesong, Bachellor(ette) and Caught A Lite Sneeze, he's becoming pretty good at the whole cover version game.
