Iced Earth

Recently I have been listening to a lot of Iced Earth and they started to become one of my favorite bands of all time. If you have heard of them I would like you to tell me what you think of them as well as what you think their best songs/albums are. My personal favorite ablum is "The Glorious Burden". If you ae not familiar with them, do your self a huge favour (if you're into metal) and become familiar with them.

Whats the Tim Owens album like?

The Tim Owens album is "The Glorious Burden" which is my favorite one. Owens never as good as he does on that album, and the band sounds as good as ever. He really adds something to the band, if you want one of the songs just pm me.

I find I prefer Owens to Barlow. Not that Barlow is bad or anything. My favorite song has to be Gettysburg (1863). That or Watching Over Me.

My favorite album is "Night of the Stormrider" followed by "The Dark Saga" and "Something Wicked This Way Comes"... I also like "Burnt Offerings" and "Horror Show" has some good tracks. Nothing on "The Glorious Burden" really stood out to me and I don't like Owens' voice. Didn't like him in Priest, don't like him in Iced Earth. A lot of people seem to like only "Burden" though, which I find interesting in the least.

Something Wicked This Way Comes > * (bar Maiden and the odd few albums). Seriously, one of my favourite albums ever. Watching Over Me is in my top 5 songs of all time.

Matt Barlow is one million times better than Tim Owens.

That said, the Gettysburg trilogy kicks ass. The Devil To Pay is my personal favorite part of the trilogy.

But as far as IE goes...Barlow all the way.

Iced Earth is great, apparently their next album is going to be a concept on Something Wicked This Way Comes which should be cool.

I liked Barlow but I am not going to hold it against Owens. IE is still good just a bit differant.

I preferred Barlow to Owens, Something Wicked This Way Comes is one of my favourite IE albums.

I have to disagree with the majority of people in this thread. While I do enjoy Barlow, I perfer Owens.
