Strangely, I was just playing this game before dinner. Stevie Ray kicked out after four Jackknife Powerbombs and then Chris Benoit pinned me after a Backbody... I'm a little rusty.

Nah, it's a lot slower gameplay-wise than more recent titles like the Smackdown series.

Well, it's not like Russo runs out before and after every match and makes some smark comments that you'll only understand about 20% of the time.

New No Mercy question. How exactly do you escape the cage? I've gotten to the top, and it says "Tap!" but it doesn't say what to tap. I tried tapping B, and got as far as getting one leg on the top, but then I fall.

WM2000 was okay - but the career mode was way too linear.

Is that the one where you had to lose the World Title at a specific point in the game or you couldn't win it back at Wrestlemania? And if you got to the show before Wrestlemania with the title, Vinnie Mac would strip you of the title and then you would be put in some lame ass opening match for the WM show instead of main eventing?

It's been a long ass time since I played WM2000 in spite of the fact that i still own it, but i believe what happens is....

You have to win the Royal Rumble because if you don't you won't be in the main event at Wrestlemania. Even if you're the champ, you will have the title stripped after one of the PPVs or something by Vince, so the only way you can get back into the main event is by winning the Rumble.

One more No Mercy N64 question: how do you eliminate folk from the Rumble? I can throw people between the ropes, but not over the top :/

Just generally if they're on the apron run into them or do a running strike and it'll eliminate them.

As far as I remember, not in a Rumble there isn't. If you whip them to the ropes and hit them with a running strike they'll end up on the apron. Then just strong attack or a running strike and they'll be gone.

There's some good strikes that can knock them all the way over, like the Bradshaw down hammer strike.

We had a three player Rumble earlier. Linda McMahon, Chris Jericho and Mick Foley copying Grandmaster Sexay's dancing routine is hilarious.

The best part of any of these games was obviously the ability to change the wrestlers around, and see the differences in the opening video.
