Mirror: ASTON VILLA defender Olof Mellberg has been kicked out of the Sweden squad for breaking a curfew. Mellberg, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Christian Wilhelmsson were sent home by coach Lars Lagerback who is preparing for tomorrow's game with Liechtenstein. The trio broke a curfew after staying out in Gothenburg to celebrate Mellberg's 29th birthday.

Sun: OLOF MELLBERG has been sent home from the Sweden camp after a late-night bust-up. The Aston Villa defender was spotted celebrating his 29th birthday out on the town with pals Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Christian Wilhelmsson. None of the players had been drinking and they returned to the team hotel in Gothenburg at 1am. But coach Lars Lagerback was not impressed and immediately sent them home. All three are said to be stunned by the decision ahead of tomorrow's Euro 2008 qualifier against Liechtenstein.

If I was Olly, I'da done the same thing to be fair. I hope they had an awesome night.

This is like the third country where players get send away for being drunk or whatever. Lagerback knows he won't lose to Liechstentein anyways, even without these players so it's a good time to show them who's boss.
