That special was easily the best TV on in a long, long time. So emotional and yet funny at the same time; just pure brilliance. Someone tell me it's out on DVD soon...

It wasn't bad. It wasn't the best episode at all, but it was a solid end to the show.

It wasn't overly great, but was solid enough, and perfect for tying up some loose ends. And I'm with Iain76er in the fact that I've seen more adverts for it coming out on DVD today, than for the program last night. Yeah it seemed a little choppy and stuff, but yeah, was solid. People have to remember the Royle Family is far from laugh out loud funny, but it's quite possibly observational comedy at its best. It's so real.

Best Royle family quote of all time had to be when Jim is talking about Lorraine and all those TV programs.

"Y've got Lorraine, Trisha, *Insert a few other names*, Ricki bloody Lake, and they all talk complete bollocks."

I caught about 10 minutes of it, but it really didn't change my perception that The Royle Family is incredibly overhyped for something that really isn't that funny at all.
