I'm all about metal. More on the melodic side. My top ten favourite albums from 2004 and 2005:

Tell him A Semblance of Normality is the best album they ever made. I like Martin Walkyier, but the new sound along with Ridley is just brilliant.

EDIT: I go to see them live last year. Good show, but I was disappointed they weren't all drunk on stage.

Okay. Get anything by Korpiklaani. I just saw these guys live and they are the most fun I've ever had watching or listening to a band. I've listened to them many times in the past, but you get the full effect by having them stand 2 feet away from you downing Carlsberg.

As for recent albums, why hasn't anyone mentioned Rocket Ride by Edguy yet? You might already have it, but if not, hurry up and get it It's my favourite album this year (possibly not including the new Maiden album as I haven't heard it yet).

Maybe give Flyleaf a shot? Nothing great or amazing, but it is a good listen. It has a female vocalist.
