I will be watching the Flames hopefully not blow the playoffs against the Oilers at a local bar (Who surprisingly shows Flame Games in Michigan.) I really can't be bothered buying this card any way. Not much looks at me and says this is a must see. In fact the fight that I am most interested in is Herring and Imes.

I know its a bit late, but I just thought I'd say that having watched the first half of the UFC 69 yesterday, that Garcia/Huertez (yeah, I'll be honest, I can't remember the second guys name, but its something like that, right....right?) was absolutely amazing. I'm kinda new to UFC, so I mean, I'm probably more impressed at the moment by pure slug fests than intricacies and the like, but yeah, aweasome stuff.

Gonna check out the second half when I get home today. I might give it a month or so and start joining in. Sure, I'll be behind, but will be worth seeing how I can compete.

That would be Huerta. Roger Huerta is a pretty incredible fighter, and is definitely going to be the Lightweight champion someday. As for the 2nd half of 69.... be prepared to be disappointed by Sanchez/Koscheck.

I didn't realise it was on UFC 69, but I'd already read a heated argument on DVDR about the match....and yeah, it blew.

As for predictions whilt watching, of the 5 they showed, I guessed 3 right >_> Was surprised to see Serra win, but fair play.

EDIT: Fuck it, I'll throw my hat in for UFC 70

Yeah, so total guess work on most of this. Whats the difference between TKO and KO?

KO, the fight is stopped when the ref believes a fighter is clearly out and unable to continue. In this case, the ref will stop the fight immediately before a fighter can follow up with any more strikes to the (presumably) downed opponent.

TKO, the fight is stopped when the ref believes a fighter is not necessarily knocked out, but in a position in which they are not defending or cannot defend themselves. In this case, the ref will give a fighter the chance to defend themselves from their opponent's strikes, but the fight will be stopped if they aren't defending themselves fittingly.

Main Card

Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipović vs. Gabriel Gonzaga - KO, 2nd round

Lyoto Machida vs. David Heath - Decision

Michael Bisping vs. Elvis Sinosic - TKO, 1st round

Andrei Arlovski vs. Fabricio Werdum - Submission, 2nd round

Cheick Kongo vs. Assuerio Silva - Submission, 1st round

Preliminary card

Terry Etim vs. Matt Grice - Submission, 3rd round

David Lee vs. Junior Assuncao - Submission, 1st round

Alessio Sakara vs. Victor Valimaki - Decision

Dennis Siver vs. Jess Liaudin - Decision

Edilberto de Oliveira vs. Paul Taylor - KO, 1st round

A TKO can also be for Doctor's stoppage, throwing in the towel and other 'outside' finishes.

True, I hadn't even thought to mention that. But yeah, specially, the difference between the KO and TKO what Liam was asking is when the ref steps in when a fighter isn't able to defend himself with out actually being KO'd. The ref will give a few warnings, telling the fighter to defend himself or he'll stop it, and if he doesn't, that's it.

One thing you'll notice if you start watching is that sometimes more reputable fighters will get more of a chance to defend themselves than less reputable fighters. Depends on the situation. If it's bad, the ref will stop it regardless of who is on the receiving end. Fans, as well as fighters themselves, complain about premature stoppages, but the most important thing is always the fighter's well being and the refs in the States will stop it as soon as they feel a fighter is in danger.
