oh quit your conspiracy bullshit already. Its old and tired. No need to keep going on about the stupid conspiracy. In any case, there are logical reasons why the raiders got rid of moss and for why they only got a 4th rounder.

No, there aren't. Outside of the Patriots having something incriminating on Kiffin, there is NO reason for Randy Moss to a) go for just a fourth round pick or b) not go for a better trade offer, like that Rodgers one mentioned.

Lets see, because at the time that Green Bay trade was being discussed, they had Andrew Walter and thats it. They could have taken that deal, then drafted Calvin Johnson. Or they could have taken that deal after drafting Russel and traded even less for Mike Williams and left McCown in Detroit

Randy Moss is apparently equal in value to Mike Williams, a bust and Josh McCown, a QB who couldn't start in Arizona. Actually Moss is worth less apparently as the pick Detroit got was higher than the one Oakland got.

Its much like the Dillon deal from a few seasons ago. The Bengals could have gotten much more for Corey Dillon had they come out and said "give us your offers" instead they talk to only the Patriots and get shit in return.

Thats not weird though?

No one has ever accussed the Raiders of being brilliant at trades/drafting/managing their team. The only people that could give you their thought process are the raiders themselves.

Still, the whole conspiracy theory is just silly.

An injured Daunte Culpepper was traded for a second round pick!

But a healthy Randy Moss, one of the best recievers in the leauge when he's barely even trying is only worth a 4th?

And a late 4th at that! You can't tell me any other team wouldn't have traded a 4th rounder for Randy Moss, this is ridiculous.

While I don't agree with it, there is some merit behind the theories people talk about.

Oh, and Al Davis has said before that not drafting Lienart was a killer because he really liked Johnson. Add that in with the fact he hates drafting QBs in the first round and he planned on moving his top WR, there is good reasoning behind this one that it's something that wouldn't get passed in a fantasy league.

Has anyone considered that maybe Randy Moss wanted to go to the Patriots and nowhere else? If that's the case then the Raiders didn't really have a choice if that was all the Patriots were willing to give up. Bottom line they've gotten rid of a player whose known for his ego more than his play and gotten something in return. You never know they may pull a New Orleans and pick this year's Marques Colston with the pick.

I'm fairly sure Randy Moss doesn't have a no trade clause. They could have sent him anywhere and all he could do was pout about it.

Yeah but the other teams would be talking to Moss and his agent surely and if they found out he didn't want to play there they wouldn't make the trade. It's clear the Packers trade didn't go down because Al isn't big on Rodgers. As the Raiders got more and more desperate to get rid of Moss they ended up making what was, in reality, a shitty trade for them. But they did it because Moss most likely wants to be a Patriot and nothing else (at least in terms of the teams offering a trade). When it comes down to crunch time, the Raiders had to get shafted to get rid of a guy who has become a cancer to them.

And because of an invention called the telephone. The conspiracy theory has been debunked. Back to the draft.

I like what the Ravens have been doing, our selection of Grubbs addressed a need as well as landing a guy who might've been the best player available. I'm happy with the other picks we made, adding depth to our LB corps and O-Line as well as picking up a FB. I'm a bit torn on Figurs, but it can't help to take a good Return Specialist after what Hester did last year.

They were offered more to send him out of the conference and they don't? Yeah thats not weird at all.

They could have said, alright we're fielding trades for Moss and recieved way better offers, but instead they only talk to the Pats, to get a bad 4th round pick?

I mentioned Smith possibly ending up in Baltimore and I love the fact that he did. It's a place where he won't feel pressure right away, probably be a 3rd quarterback at first. He can learn from a McNair, there's a strong locker room there, team leaders, and if they stay defensive minded, then Smith will just have to be in a Dilfer-role of not blowing the game.

Now, this whole conspiracy theory is stupid. Randy Moss has 20 million dollars coming to him, not every team is willing to pick that up. Most of them aren't. You're saying the Raiders only talked to the Patriots and Packers? Mike Shannahan, who hates Al Davis publically, they don't work together...he got a call from the Raiders regarding Moss, Shanny just wasn't interested.

And Maxx, you think they should have taken Aaron Rogers and a 5th round pick, then draft Calvin Johnson? There's a reason the Packers are willing to deal Aaron Rogers, he's shown crap to anybody. He's likely to not even get a chance when Favre leaves now, why would the Raiders bother with that deal? Al Davis wants to win, probably more than any owner in the league, why would he do something to hurt his team?

At this point, the Raiders would have cut Moss on June 1st if they didn't make a trade anyway, they just wanted him off the team and, more importantly, out of the locker room. He may revive his career and I hope he does, but he wasn't gonna do it in Oakland. Better to get anything for him, move on, and start building with younger guys.

Moss did not have much trade value at all....The Raiders are lucky to get a 4th for him. I guarantee most teams would not even discuss the option of getting Moss, because of his attitude and the way he takes plays off. Belichek took a chance on him, because he feels Moss will play hard for a contender.

Hurt his team? Rodgers hasn't gone any playing time because Brett Favre refuses to retire, how can picking up CJ and giving Rodgers time be any worse than having Mike Williams and Russell?

Russell >>>>>> Rodgers. You don't get the chance to draft a franchise QB very often, Rodgers is not a franchise QB. CJ is the best WR in years, but you don't need the best WR in years to win games. Look at the Patriots.

Okay, the official count now is:

passed on Brady Quinn- twice

passed on Trent Edwards- twice

passed on Troy Smith- twice

So, Matt Moore, Zabranksy, Leak...anyone? I'm not sure how well Leak projects in the NFL, but I kinda would be tickled to get Mr. Zabransky. Maybe he can teach Matt Jones that cool little "statue of liberty" play (Y)

Any word on if they intend to make the position change for Troy? I'm still at a loss as to where the line is between "mobile QB" and "convert to WR". I know it's there, but I'm not sure if there's an exact situation where they have to throw x yards or whatever or else they aren't good enough.

And I hope Moss is a total dick in New England.

EDIT: Also curious as to Zabransky and Leak. I see both of them just joining the free agent market, but I wouldn't be shocked with a late sixth-early seventh round choice.
