Wimbledon 2007 Suicide Pool

Recommended Posts

I would like to run a suicide pool for this year's Wimbledon Men's tournament. It will be divided up into days of the tournament. You only pick one winner for each day and you can only pick each player once. If your player doesn't win then you are out. Your pick for each day must be posted before the start of play for that day. Finally, the first day's schedule should be posted sometime on Sunday so start posting your pick for the first day after that is announced.

Edit: I just realized this should probably be in the Forum games possibly.

Andy Murray has pulled out.

Tursunov (21) to beat Almagro

Del Potro to beat Sanguinetti

Becker to beat Chela (24)

Bolded my pick. It's a shame because Del Potro has been one of my favourite players since almost November last year or so but he's set to face Federer in the second round. If he didn't come across Federer, Nadal or Roddick - possibly Hewitt since this is grass. I reckon he could make it to the Quarter Finals, unfortunately he won't make it much further than the second round at this rate :(

Going to challenge myself a little, took a look and will try and pick some non seeds and stuff like that.

I don't want to risk a pick on this, but Mahut vs. Clement will be a great first round match, probably Court 13 worthy, and I can see Mahut possibly taking that. But both men are in great form.

Also I'm calling it now, Martin Klizan will win the Boys tournament.

EDIT: Rik De Voest is South African, not from the USA.

Max Mirnyi to beat Yen Hsun-Lu

Second day is filled with potential banana skins, Max has played a lot of tennis though recently and he's a great grass court player. Done well against Nadal at Queens so I'll go with him, seems like a decent choice.

EDIT: This is providing Del Potro wins, he's making hardwork of a match he should win, especially based off recent form. But Sanguinetti is just an annoying wall-type opponent who puts everything back and forces mistakes.

Then again, if I didn't make interesting picks, I wouldn't find this very interesting.

Still, if Klizan win's the boys I'm claiming the tournament >_>
