I for one had always thought They Might Be Giants wrote "Istanbul." I was actually kind of disappointed when I found out that it was a cover.

Just taking this opportunity to gently remind you that I'll have no slandering of They Might Be Giants. Not saying you did...just warning =P

According to CoversProject.com, TMBG's "New York City" is a Cub cover. They've even covered Frank Sinatra ("Lady Is A Tramp") and The Meat Puppets ("Whirlpool"). Can't help but love that versatility.
