Playstation 3 deal at Walmart

Ok so I know there aren't that many exclusives on PS3 right now, but is it worth buying one if you get a total of 15 free Blu Ray movies of your choice with it for free?

Wow... We only got 5 movies we had to mail in for...

It as always comes down to the games, if any in the future appeal to you.

The only exclusives of mention at the moment are Resistance, Motorstorm, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted and soon Unreal Tournament III. With Haze, LittleBigPlanet, Infamous, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Killzone 2 coming out next year (with stuff like God of War III and Final Fantasy coming whenever). Plus the typical multi-platform stuff... which with a 360 aren't that big of a deal.

I think it's worth having as some of the games are tremendous and the future looks extremely bright, but I personally wouldn't go for the 40 GB model (less space, less hardware and no backwards compatibility are a big turn off).

But the 15 movies... Heck, get them and if you don't want them sell them. That should make a big chunk of it back right there.

You have to buy the 80Gb one to get the deal and for the movies it's actually 10 of your choice in store and the other 5 in the mail (probably the same 5 you got).

Having the Blu Ray player would be nice but my only hesitation right now is Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted are the only games out I want to play for it. Seems a little steep for 2 games and a cool DVD player. Especially when we dont even use our 360 enough.

You could always sell the Blu-ray movies on Ebay or something....that's equivalent to at least 100 bucks

I only got 1 free Blu-Ray with mine, and that was Casino Royale, so on that basis it sounds good >_>

But like Vilge said, it all depends on whether you're willing to sit on games like Uncharted and wait for the really big hitters to come out next year or not. I'm not sure how much the 80Gb model costs but I got the 60Gb one and I haven't been disappointed at all. Uncharted is one of the games I'm looking forward to as well, but really, if you're already thinking it's too steep for just two games then you'll probably feel the same way if you bought it. And chances are it'll be even cheaper by the time the big guns are out, so it's up to you whether you can be content watching all those films

that would seem like a bit much if right now the main interest would be the dvd player. Right now Amazon has a special on an HD-DVD player http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=..._rd_i=193642011 $200 for the player and ya get 10 free HD-DVDs

I think it's kinda funny that Wal-Mart is doing this deal considering every time I go to a Wal-Mart (doesn't matter where), their demo PS3 is always frozen. ALWAYS. I've never walked out of there wanting a PS3.
