Lost season 4 Trailers

I've just seen a trailer for it, looks amazing. I have a few questions about it though, I have heard people saying only the first 8 episodes are due to be shown then there will be a break due to the writer's strike, is this true?

And also, the trailer says it will air on Jan 31st in the US, is there any date set the UK yet?

Indeed. All they filmed prior to the strike were 8 episodes. The producers of Lost don't want ABC to air the episodes because they don't feel it was a sufficient "ending" for the fourth season, but ABC execs are going ahead anyways.

OKAY:

Note the "6".

And here is the much longer trailer. Note the "6" again a few times. Oh and just in case it isn't obvious enough big fucking spoilers are in this link.

It's taking the slot from the dreadful Big Shots. ABC seems to think that the lead in from Gay's Anatomy will do it well. Regardless, prior to the strike I believe it was scheduled to be on Wednesdays at 10pm est/9pm cst, although I could be wrong.

A few shots you may have missed from the trailer.

Also, the meaning of the six is explained here - http://www.fanpop.com/spots/lost/links/513902 (I have used that to link to it, because the actual page's url is spoilery as well).
