Total Wipeout on BBC1

What an awful shit show. Poorly filmed, has horrible, unfunny voice over work done by Richard Hammond and just comes off as a really lame version of Takeshi's Castle and Ninja Warrior. Anyone else seen this?

I didn't watch it but yes, from the ads it does totally smack of Takeshi's. Frankly, i'm suprised it's taken the BBC this long to commision a Hammond veichle.

Clearly some Argentines said to the BBC 'give us £40, send some low rent interviewer and we'll round up 20 British tourists and send you back the footage', hence Hammond being in front of a bit of canvas (probably in the Top Gear studio, or his house) and the general picture quality being not quite standard definition. I can handle it on Challenge with Craig Charles/the godlike Stuart Hall commentating, but BBC Saturday night? Its worse than Hole in the Wall.

The American version of this was quite good, One of the Sportscenter guys did the VO and teleprompter work.

It was ok, but yeah, reminded me of Ninja Warrior and Takeshi's Castle. The VO on this is better than on Ninja Warrior though. The guy on there sounds like Christopher Biggins.

Next week seems to be pretty much the same challenges/course as tonight. Hopefully there's different variations or it'll get boring very quickly. I would think there will be though.

Hey. I liked Hole In The Wall. Obviously you record it first and then wind on all the inane talking and just watch the actual wall sections.

I actually really enjoyed the show, and found the commentary by Hammond to be pretty entertaining.

A friend of mine is on the show on the 24th.
