Help on new music?

Can you guys help me out with some new music to check out? I'm into metal but not like screamo stuff. More like Disturbed if that counts but right now, I'm more into techno and alternative. Any music that is similar to InnerPartySystem's "Don't Stop" or Pendulum's music, or even something like Rise Against. Something good please! I don't care if it's an artist or just a song. I'm just too lazy to research into most of this stuff because I result in nothing. (Y)

Stuff like Disturbed...uh... Dope and Lamb of God?

Techno and Alternative? Razed in Black, Skinny Puppy and KMFDM are good starts.

Like Rise Against? Ignite is fucking awesome. The Cancer Bats are far heavier than RA these days, but also far better.

Ignite is a phenomenal shout.

Get "Our Darkest Days"

Then get stuff like "Dead FM" by Strike Anywhere, "Potemkin City Limits" and "Support Caste" by Propagandhi.

And fuck it. I'll leave YI to it when he appears. He'll name more than me.

Haha, that's my cue.

STUFF LIKE "RISE AGAINST

Ignite - I third "Our Darkest Days", one of the best releases in recent memory. Their older stuff isn't really as good, but "Our Darkest Days" is outstanding. All myspace tunes are from that album - http://www.myspace.com/ignitemusic

Strike Anywhere - Another band I will back, although I'd recommend checking them out in album order; "Change Is A Sound" -> " Dead FM" -> "Exit English" - http://www.myspace.com/strikeanywhere

Propagandhi - Another suggestion I will back, although for a more RA fan friendly sound I'd recommend going with the album "Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes" as a starting point, which is my favourite album as well - http://www.myspace.com/propagandhi

No Trigger - Only have one album out to date, "Canyoneer" (although apparently they're releasing a new one this year). Very Rise Against sounding, really, really good. - http://www.myspace.com/notrigger

Ryan's Hope - FUCKING ROCK! First album sounds a bit like Green Day, but by their 2nd album "Apocalypse In Increments" they'd really come into their own, very Rise Against sounding. They put out a free, home recorded EP last year, you can get that HERE, and check out other tunes on myspace - http://www.myspace.com/ryanshope

A Wilhelm Scream - Everyone should love A Wilhelm Scream. Album order; "Mute Print" -> "Ruiner" -> "Career Suicide" - http://www.myspace.com/awilhelmscream

Smoke Or Fire - I've only heard their 2nd album "The Sinking Ship", it's really good. "The Patty Hearst Syndrome" is a hell of a song. - http://www.myspace.com/smokeorfire

88 Fingers Louie - is basically the foundation for Rise Against. With Dan Precision and Joe Principe forming Rise Against after 88 Fingers Louie broke up (drummer Glenn Porter at the same time formed Alkaline Trio with Matt Skiba). They have 2-albums and countless EP's. As far as albums, I prefer "Behind Bars" to "Back On The Streets" - http://www.myspace.com/88fingerslouie

Break The Silence - Dan Precision (Rise Against guitarist circa "The Unravelling") left and formed Break The Silence, they have since split, but put out an outstanding album "Near Life Experience" - http://www.myspace.com/breakthesilence

Zero To Sixty - Dan Precision then went on to form Zero To Sixty alongside former 88 Fingers Louie vocalist Denis Buckley, who he's still playing with. You can download their EP HERE, and can also hear the tunes on myspace, "Give In To This" and "The Will" are killer - http://www.myspace.com/zerotosixtychicago

The Falcon - Todd Mohney (Rise Against's guitarist circa "Revolutions Per Minute") formed The Falcon with Dan Andriano (Alkaline Trio) and Brendan Kelly and Neil Hennessy (The Lawrence Arms). Hennessy was also in two of Tim McIlrath's bands before Rise Against, Baxter and The Killing Tree, and co-wrote Rise Against's hit "Swing Life Away". These guys are fucking epic, even though Mohney isn't in them anymore - http://www.myspace.com/thefalconisbiggerthanjesus

Last Of The Believers - Chris Chasse (Rise Against's guitarist circa "Siren Song..." and "Sufferer & The Witness") now fronts Last Of The Believers, with some fellas from Ignite and Death By Stereo (fuck knows who from DBS, they've had about 9-million line-up changes). They put an EP out last year called "Paper Ships Under A Burning Bridge", I could listen to "Throwing Matches" all day. - http://www.myspace.com/lastofthebelievers

Only Crime - Chris Chasse (current Rise Against guitarist) used to play in these, they were fucking ROCKING! Their singer used to sing in Good Riddance, who have also split up, just as well as they haven't put out an album with shit since 1996. As for Only Crime I preferred their debut "To The Nines" to the follow-up "Virulence". - http://www.myspace.com/onlycrime

Okay, I ranted on much more than I wanted to...so for techno like stuff, check out;

Prodigy (although that probably goes without saying)

Colony 5 ("Fixed" is such an AMAZING album)

Let's Talk Tactics (1:45 in "Fortune Favours The Bold" = EEEEPIC!!!)

Does It Offend You, Yeah?

Boole

Ephedrix

Nukleon

Ganymede

Blaqk Audio

U-Recken

That'll do for now. :shifty:

Oh, and clearly, BROKENCYDE!!!

:shifty:
