Ferrari have gotten away with so much and have had so many decisions go there way over the past decade it is nice to see the shoe being on the other foot for once.

Following on from GA:

I am not a Hamilton fan either, and I agree with you, but the problem is Hamilton's incident was very marginal and a new rule and it took a while for the rule to be interprated correctly, which is wrong, he should have been punished earlier, but he was punished, just the punishment was ineffective, thats not Hamilton's fault, its the fault of the race stewards. Kubica going off with a mechanical problem doesn't exonerate Alonso of any wrong doing when he illegally passed Kubica and then didn't yield the position back. He did something wrong, didn't rectify it and had to be punished.

Of course you are going to favour the teams/drivers you like and then pass strong judgement on the ones you dislike, but you can't defend Ferrari in this instance, what they did was wrong and then to deny it when it was obvious to the whole world was insulting.

I didn't see it like that. Eddie's point was that it is in the rules now and wasn't then, which he did say when DC when called him out on Spa 98. EJ even said, yes it has gone on for years but it is in the rules now because of Austria 2002 and that's that.

I like Eddie Jordan on this show, he adds to the dynamic of the presenters and he isn't afraid to say it how he sees it. Plus he's very entertaining, a lot better than Mark Blundell ever was!

All that can be said now is that it wasn't right as it is now against the rules which they blatently broke. It isn't fair on Massa but they've been fined and it would be wrong to alter the results.

Kobayashi was later handed a five-place grid penalty and will start from 23rd position. Looks like this weekend is set to be more Red Bull vs. Ferrari.

I like Vettel's drive and ambition, but his attitude just stinks, he is all happy and merry on Saturdays and then more often than not has a face like thunder on Sundays, the guy lacks the certain level of class that I like in my world champions <_<

Great race though. Big impact on the championship. I do hope that Schmacher does get a grid penalty at Spa.

Awesome drives throughout the field, really. Webber drove just as well as he did in the Nurburgring last year to get the win, and probably had it even harder this year because of the way the regulations have changed things. Really nice to see the midfield teams doing brilliantly in the points too, Petrov and Hulkenburg finally showing their potential well and truly. Sauber got their first double points finish too and Kobayashi finishing 14 places up - 9 of those irrgeardless of those that retired - really does show his potential I think.

Bad for Kubica since it wasn't his fault, and the Renault chief said that they didn't see Sutil because they were a little too distracted with a three-wheeled Mercedes heading their way. Speaking of Mercedes, they're slipping dangerously close to being caught by Renault right now, especially if Petrov can keep this up and Kubica's run of bad form gets cut out.

I loved that race, loads of talking points and the race result couldn't have been much better. Great win for Webber, I really hope he can push on and win the title now. Hamilton going out was perfect, it really closes up the standings and puts Red Bull into the lead. Although to be fair if it wasn't for what I think is lack of experience mainly on Vettel's part the team would be miles clear and the championship would be over already. McLaren have some work to do to get back in this as they're now clearly the third fastest team.

I really think if Red Bull and/or Vettel don't win the title this year it will be down to Vettel's inexperience. He's a young hothead and is letting it obstruct his obvious talent. Hopefully that'll change with age because he is a great talent and right now is in by far the best car on the grid.

It's great to see Petrov, Hulkenberg and De La Rosa getting a nice clutch of points today too. Kobayashi did really well to finish 9th from where he started too. Looks like they've finally found a Japanese driver who isn't a disaster waiting to happen. He has some real potential. And if Petrov can deliver this more consistently then Renault will soon be in front of Mercedes, they've already done it in terms of their car I think, just need the results.

Schumacher needs to pack it in now, that was an outrageous and downright dangerous move to try and shut out Barrichello, what was he playing at? The sheer arrogance of him afterwards too, to basically brush it off and say it was Rubens' fault, he's still just as bad as he used to be. It was only for 1 point as well, which just about sums up this comeback for him. He makes me really like Hamilton & Vettel in comparison.

One more note to the new teams too, all 6 managed to finish and *only* 2-3 laps down on the main pack, if they keep progressing then watching them trundle round getting in everyones way will eventually pay off.

So what happened with the Mercedes tyre, there is no way it wasn't just put on correctly? If so, that is terrible pit-crew work.

The Renault one was ridiculous. It's the lollipop mans ENTIRE JOB to release the car safely. I understand there was a wheel going insane through the pit area, but fucking hell, it was nowhere near him, and he should have been watching given it was a safety car situation.

And Schumacher is a cunt. If Barrichello hit the wall, that would have been a horrible crash.

Very excited about Spa this weekend. Really missed F1 these past 3 weeks. I have a bunch of mates who went down there but I couldn't make it myself, the bastards. Going to be very entertaining to watch those cars struggle up Eau Rouge towards the beginning of the race when they have full petrol tanks. And of course we all know what rain does to the track in Belgium and judging by the weather much ot Europe has experienced this week I wouldn't be surprised to see a wet race.... doubt we'll see another Force India pole though!
