Made it to the end of Mt. Moon, caught a Jigglypuff and named it Marshmallow, also declined to buy a Magikarp because I don't buy stuff off the black market. Also managed to catch a Geodude and named him Dasdude. Found two tm's; one taught mega punch to Dasdude, the other taught water gun to Marshmallow. Also found this really old fossil…don't remember what it was called though. Getting ready to march into Cerulean City.

Current roster:

Burnatrix - Lv. 17 Charmeleon

Butters - Lv. 15 Butterfree

Dasdude - Lv. 14 Geodude

Joltsax - Lv. 14 Pikachu

Hellpeck - Lv. 12 Spearow

Marshmallow - Lv. 9 Jigglypuff

Done a fuck of a lot of training yesterday and managed to get past Brawly in Dewford for my second badge. My team now looks like

Zubat (lvl 21)

Surskit (lvl 21)

Mightyena (lvl 21)

Electrike (lvl 22)

Gonna switch my team around a bit for the next gym, give some other caught Pokemon a chance

Misty is a bitch and so is Water Pulse.

Had to go beyond Vermillion City to get Pikachu trained up enough to have a chance (And had to use 2 rare candies as well)

Still beat her though, Just.

Team

Pikachu - Lv22

Charmander - Lv22

Mankey - Lv16

Beedrill - LV15

Geodude - Lv13

Pidgey - Lv11

Made it into Cerulean City, decided to explore the sights first. Ended up finding my rival again. His lv. 18 Pidgey fell to my lv. 15 Joltsax in a single thundershock. Next he sent out Abra, who just tried to teleport away. It didn't work Joltsax shocked him till he fainted. Next was a Rattata, I used thunder wave to paralyze it and then switched to Dasdude who only needed two mega punches to win. Next came his Squirtle, I sent out Marshmallow who put Squirtle to sleep after Squirtle got in a Water Gun. Then I switched to Butterfree who used Confusion to finish him off.

Next I found and caught an Oddish who I named Goddish and caught an Abra (thanks to Marshmallow) and named him Houdini. I replaced Hellpeck and Marshmallow with Goddish and Houdini. After some more searching I found TM 19 which taught Seismic Toss to Houdini, so he could actually battle. Found some weird guy named Bill who gave me a S.S. Ticket, cool I guess. Headed back into town where I found Team Rocket causing trouble. Beat them into submission and I got TM 28 which contained Dig. Decided to give it to Dasdude. Almost ready to take on Misty

Current Roster:

Burnatrix - Level 21 Charmeleon

Butters - Level 18 Butterfree

Joltsax - Level 18 Pikachu

Dasdude - Level 19 Geodude

Goddish - Level 16 Oddish

Houdini - Level 16 Kadabra

Not playing....but when I used to play Pokemon, if all my Pokemon weren't within one level of each other, it would drive me up the wall. Equality!

Well for me it's all about priority. My Charmander and Geodude are likely to be on the team fir awhile so they get leveled up faster. Oddish and Kadabra were just caught so they haven't caught up yet in leveling.

Put Geodude in Daycare while I did the S.S Anne - Well worth it as Pikachu got all of the action and jumped up to Lvl 29 when it was all said and done.

Then went and beat Surge before heading off to the Rock Tunnel - Will do the Rock Tunnel tomorrow.

Lineup.

Pikachu - Lv 29

Charmander - Lv 27

Mankey - Lv 22

Geodude -Lv 21

Beedrill - Lv 17

Pidgey - Lv 14

Arrrgh now I want to play. I think I might play LeafGreen? It's either that or FireRed, really. Or plain old Red or Blue if I'm feeling particularly unadventurous.

Someone assign me a trainer gimmick! (i.e. all grass, poison, birds, whatever) Otherwise my will power will fail and I'll end up with the same team of Charizard/Victreebell/Seadra/Nidoking/etc. as I always do...

And if it's a gimmick that can't really be followed until the late game (e.g. not enough Fire pokemon around at the start), an interim-gimmick would be handy too. :shifty:

Thing is, if I now tried to level my brand new Weedle (first pokemon not to go straight into the PC - take that, ya dumb pigeon/rat/monkey!) to be equal with Squirtle with only Viridian Forest to play in...it'd take a good, long hour. Can't be arsed. <_<

I'm more interested in what's happening in Sousa's adventure.

I just fought a hobo!

Did some stuff with my Pokemon, too.

We've wandered into a quarry that I have dubbed Mt. Moon. There are a bunch of guys in hard hats. I guess they're Team Rocket.

I haven't been playing alot because of hard days at work. But I'm still in. Only in Viridian Forest at the moment though, attempting to catch a Pikachu. :shifty: So far my team is;

TEOL (Bulbasaur), Level 10.

DJ Ice (Rattata), Level 10.

ADG (Mankey), Level 10.

SRAR (Caterpie), Level 4.

ADG will have a field day once I get to Brock.

Managed to find my GBA (emulator :shifty:) a few days ago and booted up FireRed. I'm currently 10 hours in and my party is:

Lv. 14 Ekans

Lv. 14 Pikachu

Lv. 15 Spearow

Lv. 17 Oddish

Lv. 15 Butterfree

Lv. 16 Mankey

I'm in Vermilion City and I'm just taking on the trainers to the East/catching myself a Diglett before I go exploring the St. Anne.

The party I'm using currently isn't my best party in terms of level as I also have a Lv. 18 Pidgeotto, Lv. 14 Beedrill, Lv. 18 Geodude, Lv. 16 Nidorino and my Lv. 19 Ivysaur that I can switch into my party depending on the types needed.

Just a quick question: how do you rename your Pokemans? IIRC, you had to speak to someone, right?

EDIT: Just caught a Lv. 17 Spearow and decided to trade my Lv. 15 for a Farfetch'd. Fuck yeah.

So after reading through the thread I started playing FireRed. What is the difference between the three anyway?

I haven't played in a long time... And I mean since like the 90's. It's good, I can just open it up, listen to some mooooosic and play for a bit without thinking.

I also picked Squirtle, cause he is the pornstar of Pokemon.

Just arrived in Cerulean City and beaten that run of five/six trainers up on Route 24. Current team is:

Lv.20 Squirtle

Lv.20 Paras

Lv.19 Butterfree

Lv.19 Beedrill

I don't think any of them have, or will ever have, any moves that would be super effective against Water, so I'm not sure what my strategy against Misty will be. :/ Oh well, I can at least potter around up to Bill's house and back, and get them all up to Lv.25 at least.
