That's awesome for the White Sox. Ventura was always a great player and more importantly, a smart player. He should be a really good manager for Chicago.

My first memory of Ventura is not getting pummeled by Ryan, but his ankle breaking, with his foot facing the opposite direction. That still gives me the heebey jeebeys when I see it.

So I just watched a game to see if I now liked baseball. The most exciting thing was a cute little squirrel running across the home plate and terrorising some fans. I was thinking there was a new rule about using animals as runners to spice up games but it wasn't in a uniform.

I'm not sure I've ever been so nervous/excited for a sports game in my life. I think the Yankees are the favorite tonight but Fister is better than people know. Its gonna be a long night for me.

Even though I grew up a Yankees fan for some reason I always liked Robin Ventura, especially when he was on the Mets. He just seemed like an absolute gamer and of course had that awesome Grand Slam against the Braves.

If you're pulling Nova pull him out of after the first. Why do it after the 2nd when Nova recovered nicely from a leadoff double. He pulled Hughes really early as well.

Sabathiaa warming up now and will start the 5th. So he goes the 5th and maybe 6th before turning it over to Robertson?

Girardi claimed yesterday that the team was loose. That might be true but Girardi looks tight here.

Bah. We had a good year. After the way Texas went through Tampa, I think we would have fallen to them in the ALCS, anyway. So at least this way saves me from stressing out for another week or two. I predicted A-Rod to strike out to end it back in the sixth inning.

A-Rod didn't do dick, but neither did the rest of our line-up. Aside from Game Four's onslaught, the Tigers pitching made the Yanks their bitches.

So by the end of October 6 both the Red Sox and Yankees were on vacation. This is a great year!

The Tigers were the better team this series and deserved to win, they outplayed NY in every facet and Girardi was outmanaged.
