  1. Isnt NBA Live the only bad one in that list? I mean I didn't get into Hockey but it's generally accepted the other 3 are pretty great isnt it? I'd say Madden has regressed in the last few years despite all the tinkering they've done to make it better. And yeah, they screwed the pooch with NBA Live - waited too long to fix it then once they did, it was completely and utterly bad.
  2. To me, if it had gone to EA, it would've been a mixed bag: The game could've ended up like the Fifa and NHL series...or been like the Madden and NBA Live series.
  3. Apparently, Take Two - the parent company of 2K - will be getting the license.
  4. Because you don't wanna be the guy who broke up with the girl who has cancer. But the girl isn't real anyway, he could've never said she had leukemia, said she recovered or never went to the press about the whole deal to begin with. If he were trying to hide his sexuality then the whole cancer story could've been avoided and a healthy fictional online girlfriend presented instead. There's something incredibly strange about this whole thing. The thing is, if we are under the belief that he's in on the hoax, the narrative around him doesn't benefit from his girlfriend not having leukemia (or her recovering from it) and him breaking up with her. And you're right; this whole entire story is bizarre to say the least. If what he's saying is true and he was the victim, then he's a pretty awful boyfriend for not at least trying to force the hand of his girlfriend by coming out to see her while she's in the hospital with leukemia.
  5. Because you don't wanna be the guy who broke up with the girl who has cancer.
  6. This guy Justin Megahan's twitter timeline is rather fascinating right now. He's doing some digging in the story, finding old tweets that had been deleted.
  7. What we know now about this Te'o story is gonna look a lot prettier than what's revealed to us in the future.
  8. Perfect representation of these replacement refs.
  9. An interesting article detailing why Ray Allen left the Celtics for the Heat.: http://sports.yahoo....dGlvbnM-;_ylv=3.
  10. I had a feeling that there was an administration-wide cover up to protect the university from any scrutiny and to protect their jobs and reputations. Unfortunately, I was correct. Remember, the cover up is often worse than the crime and in this instance, withholding information about a pedophile who's on your payroll and who you allow access to your campus because you didn't want any bad press out there about the university is shameful. I hope they get the strongest penality possible.
  11. I just remembered...Eddy Curry got a ring now.
  12. ...Wait, wut? What shit he pulled? I'm guessing The Decision.
  13. Is anyone else expecting a letter from Dan Gilbert to be published later tonight?
  14. And playing the role of "Shane Battier" tonight will be Mike Miller.
  15. I know you're not saying it but a lot of people - mostly people who hate LeBron and the Heat - are of the thinking that the refs/league are in the pocket of the Heat because they want them to win. My thinking is that A) if the refs/league were siding with a team, it'd be the Thunder, which goes to B) the better story for the league and all the sports sites and channels would be if the Heat lose and the small-market Thunder win. What's lost is that most of those stupid fouls partly come from the Thunder being a relatively young and inexperienced (in terms of being in the Finals) team who will, at times, show their Finals inexperience.
  16. The Heat are playing that old man ball and are tricking the Thunder into getting those awful fouls.
  17. That 3 by Durant following the steal...my God. It was like Peja vs. the Lakers in the early 2000s.
  18. I believe they call that play "The Shane Battier" Durant did about what I expected late . . . and so did LeBron. I think Bob Ryan said something about it on PTI last week, calling it the "Duke Charge" or something to that effect. It's just awful.
  19. Getting in the way isn't playing defense. While it was questionable whether or not it was a charge or a block, I'm okay with them calling the block - too many players do that last-second slide in the way move when someone drives.
  20. What bugs me about the whole narrative on LeBron in late game situation is the notion that we're supposed to think he's "not as good as advertised" because...he's looking for the open man in situations where he's more than likely gonna be double or triple teamed? Let's be real here, most star players in those hero ball situations are shooting like...under 35%. I love Kobe but in those clutch moments that everyone believes he'll be golden in, he's been very hit or miss in the last couple of years. So what is it? The willingness of LeBron to play hero ball and chuck up last-second shots? If that's the case, I'd hope he doesn't do that for the sake of having his critics shut up about this one thing - they won't because should he miss it, they'll continue on with the narrative of him not having the clutch gene or whatever. To be honest, I'd much rather the star player look to for the better basketball play as opposed to forcing it because when you force a shot...you're gonna miss it more often than not.
  21. Meanwhile, (and I don't know if people will get this reference) Chris Bosh is playing like that dude at the park who comes up saying "can I run with y'all" and every time he takes a long range jumper, it goes in.
  22. Do that more than once a season. Good point but my God - he played remarkable tonight.
  23. Know how you stop people talking about you being clutch (at least for one game)? Drop 45 points and make the game so out of reach that there's no need for hero ball-style buckets at the end of the game.
