Milos Raonic Appreciation Thread

Holy shit, a good Canadian tennis player who won't desert us for Britain!

Milos Raonic is through to the final in Memphis, having beaten Mardy Fish in the semis. Last week he won in San Jose, and before that he went surprisingly deep at the Australian Open.

He's only 20 and still has some glaring holes in his game (aside from his serve, he's only shown flashes of brilliance) - but if he can work away and improve his defensive game before the tour figures out how to handle his serve, we could be looking at a real star in a couple years.

Rusedski made World number 4 so he wasn't bad. Thing is, his best surface was hard court whereas the casual British fans generally only really care about Wimbledon. He was also TERRIBLE on the clay like a lot of the hard court guys were back in the day when there were far more clay specialists and hard specialists than even now.

That's what I think will ultimately hurt Murray. I can see him winning the US or Australian Open, but until he wins Wimbledon he'll be seen as a failure.

Murray should have beat him on Saturday night, he served for the match but Djoko pulled through and won on a tie-breaker in the third. I'm just glad Murray made a good account of himself to be honest after the Aussie Open, but I think you're right I can't see anyone beating Djoko at the moment, he seems to have Nadal's number this year.
