Visnovsky is apparently strongly considering either staying in Slovakia or going to the KHL.

Only the Isles...

Well I kind of doubt he's NHL-ready at this point anyhow.

Found a neat article on the top NHL draft busts. A highlight.

Bryan Fogarty

1987 Quebec Nordiques 1st round (9th overall)

Although drafted in ’87, Bryan Fogarty would spend two more seasons in the OHL before getting a chance to play in the NHL. It was as a 19-year old Junior with Niagra Falls Thunder when Fogarty took it upon himself to tear the OHL a new asshole. Armed with little more than two 16-year olds named Brad May and Keith Primeau, Fogarty shattered Bobby Orr’s record for goals by a defenseman with 47 and tallied 155 total points for a record that still stands today. Fogarty was perhaps one of the greatest raw talents of his generation, he loved the game and he loved his teammates. Unfortunately, he loved copious amounts of booze combined with mountains of blow and strippers’ titties even more. Fogarty played only 156 games in the NHL and passed away due to an enlarged heart in 2002 at the age of 32.

Holy shit, 155 points by a defenseman.

That is insane. 155 points by anyone is impressive, let alone a defenseman.

To be fair, that was an era of ridiculously high scoring (and some amazing goon stories) in the OHL. Fogarty only beat Stan Drulia by 10 points for the league scoring crown, and you'd have to go back at least 15 years to find a top scorer with fewer than 140 points. Doug Gilmour had 177 one year!

OK, well two years before Fogarty's monster season, somebody named Scott McCrory put up 150 points for Oshawa. And another 37 in 24 playoff games. Went on to bounce between various teams in the AHL, Austria, Italy, the IHL and Germany. :P

As for the reason I came in here, apparently the Islanders were crazy enough to offer ALL THEIR PICKS to Columbus for this year's #2 pick, and Columbus was crazy enough to say no.

Every pick? So...4th overall + everything else?

Holy shit Columbus :/

Is the difference from Murray to Reinhart really worth that much to the Islanders?

Leafs invite Frankie Palazzese to rookie camp. Despite being our backup goalie, he had the second-best save percentage in the OHL last year, only behind our starter. Bombed completely in Kingston in 2010-11 before hooking up with a much better goaltending coach here.

That said, probably a long shot for any sort of decent NHL career.
