Interesting news today in Seattle; Christian Tiffert, midfielder with the recently-relegated Bundesliga side FC Kaiserslautern, was in town to visit the club and tour the facilities. When asked about it, the official word from Sounders was that contract discussions were "premature."

^ the Seattle Times just reported "interest" but the "premature" nature of the issue of contract negotiations.

I'm curious as to just who the blue hell Columbus is looking at down in Argentina for a possible DP. Also, former Crew and MLS great GBS is now the manager at Lanus. Hope he manages in the MLS some day. Great person for the league and class act on/off the field.

RSL will hopefully come out after half time and manage to bag themselves the win. They nearly had L.A. Galaxy the other day. It was a close game. Donovan changed the tide of the game and to get the win. It was impressive to watch and to see LA's comeback.

I'll have to check the results and highlights out in the morning since I'm going bed now.

And Sounders are playing absolutely pathetic. Questioning pretty much everyone on the field + Sigi except for Ozzie Alonso and Andrew Weber, who isn't really at fault for either goal (the first is Hurtado's fault, the second is Caskey).

My calling people out on being unfunny is a constant, not dependent on how bad the Sounders play.

Speaking of, they played really bad. It took them thirty-five minutes to realize that a game was happening and it took them never to realize that long balls were not working. No creativity, no ideas, not even Portland's usual falling apart in the last ten minutes was enough. Alonso, Weber, Johnson (for his goal, not really most of the rest of his play), Ianni, and sort-of Parke get passes and nobody else.

Alonso was great. 9/10 he is. I was really surprised they just launched everything forward when Alonso was playing so well. He could easily have controlled that midfield and he and Rosales most likely would have been able to start setting things up.
