Considering they still haven't gotten minecraft right after over a year, I wouldn't pay anything for a game they developed in a single weekend.

Yeah, fuck those charities.

Oh yeah and Minecraft sucks because they (didn't change/changed) the thing that I (liked/didn't like).

Pretty much sums up my feelings on Minecraft.

So you missed how they use "retro" graphics as an excuse for being lazy, stealing game mods from lone programmers and incorporating them into the real game with no credit, released an unfinished game to market, and pointed out how much of an extreme cunt Notch is?

I think he was mostly paying attention to what a whiny bitch the video maker was.

1) Graphics have been, and always were supposed to be in that style. It's a huge part of the charm.

2) People who make mods know, know, know that they are basically giving ideas to Notch or implementing ideas that were to come further down the line.

3) THAT MAKES NO SENSE. From the start it was released as an Alpha, and then a Beta and now that it's been workable for a while it's a final with constant, constant updates. Not to mention it cost less when it was in Alpha and Beta, this makes no god damn sense.

4) Notch hasn't shown himself to be anything NEAR an asshole. In fact he's supported the Humble Bundle charities, many others and helped to promote other indy game developers.

So yeah.

I saw the retro optics deal.

You don´t have to like how Minecraft looks, but you can neither proof that it was planed to become more, neither can you ignore that the look the game has is considered "cult". Just look at the Papercraft, the Lego Set, the cossplay and the overall mearchandise. People love the blockyness, why change it?

And tell me, how should it look? Dos it need to be Skyrim? Crysis? Zelda? How many polygons would be enough? How would you not disappoint your current fan base by making such a radical switch? - I am sorry, but the argument is just stupid and has no connection to the reality that Minecraft takes place in.

As for stealing. the whole idea of Minecraft is "stolen". Notch gave "Infiniminer" as one of the main inspirations for Minecraft for example... maybe you should look at a screen shot of that game and think about the lazy unfinished optics argument again.

As for whats taken from which mod or what not. I have no idea since it´s very hard to keep track of all mods that are out there since i am only playing vanilla and watching some videos here and there. - What i do know is that Notch always was in contact with mod creators, even bloged about exchanging mails with them...so i highly doubt anyone got robed... besides Notch issent even working on Minecraft anymore.

As for "Notch being a gigant cunt"... i have only seen him act as a very nice person, giving to charity (or working for it like last weekend), not suing anyone that clearly got "inspired" by Minecraft (even saying people should do it).... the only time i ever noticed him acting out was when he was drunk and exhausted after MineCon and he later apologised for it.

So yeah, that was easy. And you know what, i bet the rest of that 20 Minute call for attention on YouTube is just as bad. The guy wanted clicks and he got em. No need start a following.
