Probably one of the tougher draws for first placed teams.

Also, importantly it's possible that a punishment hanging over Feyenoord may come into effect in their home game against Spurs meaning they may have to play their home leg behind closed doors. So don't go buying tickets yet...

That would be good for us. A big advantage of home games is the atmosphere your fans create and if they don't have any fans we could get a result there and hopefully only need a draw or a one-goal win at the Lane in the second leg.

Plus, Martin Jol being Dutch I'm sure he knows Feyenoord well and that could give us an advantage in tactical play. I know it's a tough draw but I think we'll be going through to the last 16 (bar any injury crisis).

The talk in the Corner Pin last night was that we'd probably get them, funny the way these things happen! It's quite a tough draw but the way we've been playing in Europe we should be ok. Especially the home games we've looked unplayable. I am a little concerned about us leaking goals though but I'd hope we're ok against them.

Good result last night although one that pulls at my heart strings... Seeing the sides coming out at WHL was a tear jerker for someone who used to go to Roots Hall all the time. If only it became a regulal league fixture I'd probably end up having another heart attack!

As a complete aside... Anyone heard the version of "I love Martin Jol" to the tune of "I love Rock 'n' Roll"? Pure brlliance!

Even if we win tonight, we'll lose out next week >_>

And shame on Arsenal for being so stingey about ticket allocations. 3,000, what the hell is that?

Ah well. Anyone going tonight? I was, but I am now ill :(

Ricardo Rocha. Not as good as Luisao, who Spurs always sign on FM, but still, he seems like a good replacement and better player than Davenport.

Tottenham Hotspur have been given a bye through to the Uefa Cup round of 16, following the expulsion of Feyenoord.

The Dutch club had originally been kicked out of the competition last week in relation to an incident which occurred in their group game at Nancy in late November.

Crowd violence marred the match and Feyenoord were originally fined and given a suspended sentence to play two games in an empty stadium.

Uefa deemed that punishment to be insufficient and met to throw Spurs' last 32 opponents out of the tournament.

Spurs will now automatically go through to the next stage of the Uefa Cup, with European football's governing body confirming the decision.

"Tottenham Hotspur FC have received a bye into the Uefa Cup Round of 16 following the exclusion of opponents Feyenoord from the competition," read a statement from Uefa.

"The English Premiership club were notified today by Uefa that they have been awarded automatic qualification for the tournament's Round of 16, where they will face the winners of the Round of 32 tie between SC Braga and Parma FC.

"Uefa made its decision in accordance with paragraph 32.01 of the tournament regulations.

"Uefa's Appeals Body decided to exclude Feyenoord from the Uefa Cup on 19 January following crowd disturbances by fans of the Dutch side at the group stage match against AS Nancy-Lorraine in France on 30 November.

"The decision taken by Uefa is subject to a possible appeal by Feyenoord to the Court of Arbitration of Sport."
