Paging Katsuya (pop music enthusiasts all welcome)

This is more a request/favor for a good friend than it is for myself (though I listen to pop music from time to time as well). I've been turned onto a French artist by the name of Yelle recently. It's really fun eletronic/pop.

What my friend is looking for is French artists who are similar to Yelle, I guess I'm looking for the same. I know you're a big fan of a lot of pop and thought I'd turn to you for help. If you know anything like her stuff just let me know, thanks.

This thread can basically be open for any and all pop music discussion, I think we have another one but I can't find it and want to draw this specific request to Kats' attention.

Oooooh. I feel loved.

Off the top of my head, the closest thing to Yelle is probably Mylene Farmer, who is kind of the queen of French electro-pop. Some of her stuff can be very hit and miss but then some of it is brilliant. Stylistically, she's the closest artist I can think of. Another one, particularly with her last album, would be Lorie. You can get both of their stuff very easily on Spotify if you have it.

Other good French artists ATM - or the ones I like, at least - would be Inna Modja, Shy'm and Amel Bent. They'd be your best bet for pure pop, though some of them have incorporated other things in their work.
