One of my favorite memories of Fallout 2 is doing the boxing...and being SUPER outmatched (I had nothing in strength) in the final fight. But? With the 'special' gloves I scored a critical hit to the eye. He was blinded...he couldn't hit me, so I went for the constant headshots.

In the end? I think I killed him :/
