Just saw this at another forum, and found it in the news. Sorry to hear this, but the man did rock for a long long time. He was going out there and doing shows well into his 80s, even if he had to do it sitting in a chair, he still got out there and did it. It's a shame to see one of the true guitar playing legends pass on, but he sure as hell left his mark on the music world.

No, he went into hospice care on the 1st of May.

For me this is absolutely gutting news. One of the true pioneers of the blues sound has played his final tune. His music got me into blues at a young age and I always hoped that I one day could go to a concert of him, sadly that will never happen for me.

The world lost a real music legend, kept playing right up to the end and was an ironman deep into his 80's.

God damn, not what I wanted to wake up to. The thrill is indeed gone.

I was lucky enough to be able to see him live and while at the time, I wasn't as invested in it as my parents, I'm forever grateful that they knew I'd come to my senses and really appreciate him later.
