The EWB Draft

I've taken this idea, from Togg on the GDS forums, except instead of TEW, this is made for EWR.

This game has space for 34 players, each person that signs up, will get an amount of money depending on their location and size.

The data will start with no promotions, with each player that signs up, starting their own promotion, using the sign-up form that I will post later.

The draft is supposed to be a game in itself, battling over workers, keeping within budget, forming alliances, the beginning of wars.

Using Bill1996's data there will be nearly 5000 workers to choose from, from all countries.

You will be the official owner and booker of your company, you can name your own promotion, but please try to keep it original.

WWE, TNA, ROH, etc. have been removed from the data and everybody has been made a free agent.

The data I will be using is Bill1996's March 2010 update.

The sign-ups and bidding will take place on The Official EWB Draft Forum.

Each worker will have their own page to bid on, basically auctioning off each worker to the highest bidder.

The bidding process for players will take 72 hours.

The top 120 bidding for the 4 major promotions will take place in stages, but the mass draft will be an all hands on deck bidding process.

All workers will be added, with a one week time limit to bid, where the final bidder (after all others declare there out) becomes the winner of that workers contract.

Before you apply

As said earlier, for those bidding, each promotions gets a bankroll, depending on what size, and location you pick.

You would need to check the draft forum regularly to keep the bidding for workers going fast, more than one a day and remembering to declare yourself out.

Anybody who holds up the bidding process will be replaced, so that the fun for others isn't put on hold. Please do not join if you have little time on your hands, even if you are only taking part in the secondary drafting.

Where to start

Step One:

Choose which size promotion you want to take over, and in which location.

Decide on a promotion name.

Send me a picture to cut for your owner, or send me an already cut kyky-picture you would like to use. (Obviously somebody outside of the wrestling world)

If you can, design a logo for your promotion, or let me know if you need one created for you.

Step Two:

The 120 active male wrestlers with the highest overness will be put up for auction on the initial draft round. A new round starts every day, with 30 people going up for bidding every day.

Step Three:

All players can then PM me workers they want to see being available for the draft, the person will then go on to be eligible for the draft for a period of 1 week, or less if all other players drop out.

If there are any questions, feel free to contact me by PM or by emailing me at eddiefng@live.com or replying in this thread.

Please register and sign up at the Official Draft Forum and not here on EWB.

OK I'm done and in... just need to get me an owner pic.

Also on the sign up form there is no option as to which fed size you want to use...

Also, because I work a 40 hr week, how much would that affect the game-play?

And just as Thunder stated... Other commitments..

As long as you guys have a few times in the day that you can check up on the draft/auction and make a bid or drop out of the bidding, it shouldn't take too much of your free time. ;)

I´m in, just registering. One thing though, I´m not actually understanding the way we´re drafting/biding for the Wrestlers, someone cares to explain it to me better or simplify it?

i guess it could be based off the starting money for each fed unless their is an additional draft budget based off that figure seperate from the in game money

I was about to ask that after re-reading it:P

I have an idea of how it could work... which is pretty much the same as TheWho's

but I might leave it for eddie to fill us in

Also... I wonder why no-one wants to take the only Global fed spot??

I wouldn't think so... because I don't think there will be too many people signing up to take on a backyard/small fed.

I'm not even sure there would be many, if any, taking on the regional feds.

But those decisions will be left up to Eddie.

But I'm hoping this can get up and running sooner rather than later

Eddie said he would use Bill's March data, so i would assume the first week of March will be the beginning.

As far as the bidding goes, the top 4 promotions, the 3 nationals and the global one, will receive a bankroll, which they can use to bid for the top 120 workers, the winning bid will then be their wages per month.

(So if a worker is won by promotion #2 with a final bid of $45.000. That worker will be paid $45.000 per month on a written contract).

After the initial top 120 draft, all other workers will be eligible to be drafted by every promotion in the game. The top 4 will use the bankroll they have remaining, the other promotions will receive a smaller bankroll to use for bidding.

I hope this makes sense to everybody, if it doesn't, don't hesitate to PM me with any questions on here, or on the official draft board.

PS. Rocky, if you have any interest in being the official logo/banner maker, send me a pm. :P

I might be able to help with banners and logos as well if the work load gets to be to much for Rocky. They'll be simple but they're something, lol
