  1. Crouch is a pretty shit choice, though. While he'll get a few goals, he's not going to start every game. Whereas for the same price you could get someone like Andy Johnson, who'll play the majority of Everton's games and should guarantee a good 10+ goals. (Y)
  2. Watch 'The Premiership' on RTE instead. There's nothing better than a bunch of bitter old irishmen ripping the piss outta everyone and anyone, for no particular reason. (Y)
  3. Lol, thanks for all the positive comments guys. I think the rules kinda left things open to interpretation, hence why we both made things very different from one another, and that was probably a factor in the voting - even if it was misunderstood! Great battle, AD. We'll have to have a rematch sometime.
  4. I've always thought Torres would be one of the few Spanish fowards that'd fit in well in the premiership. Like Ringy said, his goals-to-game ratio could do with a little work, but other than that he's quick, tall and physical enough to cut it in England, which is why I'm pissed that if anyone looks like getting him at the minute, it's Liverpool.
  5. Sorry for the wait (Y) http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/7278/greed2jpglx2.jpg First to three?
  6. Thanks for the rules, Jimmy. I think I did something similar before, but I'll give it a shot. ^_^ Should have something up over the next few days or so.
  7. I'm looking foward to seeing Anderson in action for Brazil. With Ronaldinho and Kaka pulling out, I'm sure he'll get the odd game or two. And did Argentina get a new coach or something? The predicted starting XI on Sky Sports News had Riquelme, Veron and Zanetti - all of whom had either retired from internationals or just weren't picked anymore.
  8. Sure, although having seen some of your stuff before, I'll probably get pwned.. >_> Rules, anyone?
  9. Ok, I'm bored and I've noticed the Graphics forum's a little quiet these days. Plus I haven't used Photoshop properly in months and could do with brushing up on a few things. That said, anyone up for a battle? Preferably non-wrestling rules. (Y)
  10. Apparently one of the b3ta forummers sent in a pisstake Goatse themed logo; Thing is, it was actually discounted as some kids attempt and shown on the BBC along with the others. Genuis.
  11. Hargreaves is being brought in to strengthen the midfield as all too often this season, against the top sides, we've missed the luxury of a real defensive-lying midfielder. Sadly, I think if anyone's to miss out next season - it'll be Giggs. Either that or Fergie will rotate. -------------VDS/Foster------------ Neville---Ferdinand---Vidic---Evra -------------------------------------- -------------Hargreaves------------ ------Carrick-------Scholes/Giggs- --------------------------------------- Ronaldo---------------------Rooney -------------New Striker?----------- (Y)
  12. Until then, I didn't think half-time team talks were anywhere near worthwhile. (Y)
  13. I've been a Man U fan since I was a kid. It kinda ran in the family, so I'd little or no choice in the matter. As for second teams, the only other league I'd really follow as much as the Premiership is Serie A. (Again a childhood thing - watching Football Italia on Channel 4 almost religiously) For whatever reason I've always seemed to have a soft-spot for Inter, although I've never been able to explain it as to why or anything. :ohwell: I also tend to appreciate teams that play "actual football" a lot more than others. I could almost as conformably support someone like Barca or (dare I say it?) Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham or someone like that, if I didn't support United.
  14. I dunno, I can't remember if they said how the deal was going to work out, but I'm sure they got the vast majority of the £23m the deal was worth.
  15. I was referring to you saying you'd hope you got at least £20 Million for him, when realistically he's worth a fraction of that. Carrick was costly I'll give you that, but he was from an already inflated English market, coming from a potential-rival in the same league. The £14M (£18M with clauses) was paying for the fact he was English and had premiership experience, sided with the fact Spurs didn't have to sell. Reyes on the otherhand has reiterated god knows how many times he wants to leave for Madrid. Wenger would be stupid to hold onto him against his own will and realistically your only talking £12-15M, IMO. I also see Calderon's come out and said he's given up on his pledge to sign Kaka, Robben and Ronaldo. No fucking surprise there, I doubt any of the presidential candidates could've held up their end of the bargain.
  16. Wasen't Green supposed to be having a medical at Charlton? I didn't even know West Ham were even interested, but yeah I'm with Summers, for less than £2Million you can't really complain.
  17. The thing is, Tevez to me doesn't seem like a Mourinho kind of signing, probably because he already carries such a high reputation as a trouble-maker. Wasen't it last season he appeared at a Corinthian press-conference wearing a Man United shirt? Because of that It's hard to really look at him as al team-player or certainly one that'd fit in at a club like Chelsea. With his apparent links to MSI, if Tevez does join them, it'd be more of an Abramovich signing than anything. :ohwell:
  18. The Sunday papers were reporting he'd been offered to United for a cut-price €22Million due to all the recent contreversy. So yeah, Chelsea'll probably buy him.
