  1. I'd expect this year to really be a breakthrough one for Sigur Ros, at least into mainstream. I've heard a lot of they're stuff as background music for channel 4 adverts and shows and they seem to feature frequently on MTV2 nowadays. I'd be very surprised if they didn't become a lot bigger by this time next year.

They are on MTV2 a lot. :o Woah, awesome. I presume Hoppipolla (sp?) is getting played. I'm sure that's a single from the new album. It's an awesome song. The only time i've seen them on tele (Besides background music) was in MTV2's 100 greatest Videos countdown. When "Untitled 1" was #19 (I think). That song got me hooked.

  2. I understand what you're saying, as you for one can actually supply a valid argument, but playing against weak opposition in the lower leagues is no test of character especially if its the premiership you aim to eventually play in.

When Rooney was Walcott's age he was coming through into the first team and constantly being pulled back out to aid his development, Moyes put in a lot of effort with him and really got the pay-off. Walcott to me is still very much unproven and although I have my doubts, he could theoretically become the star that Rooney is or will go on to be. That however, is in the distant future and to compare the two now to the extent that lanky has is ridiculous given the two vastly different jobs they each have.

  3. Walcott got there without the hype? The kid's all hype, for fucks sake.

To me, he's nothing but overated. A few good performances for Southampton and anyone can look like a hero, but throw him into the reasonably deep end (fuck that power-shifting bollocks) with Spurs and then you'd get a better assessment of his ability or lack of.

Rooney's the kind of player that instantly commands his place in the first team for both club and country and although he's understandably not at his best in every game, his very involvement alone can often change games. He's still young, he still has a lot to learn but compared to this month's flash in the pan, Walcott...he's light years ahead.

  5. From what I've seen of Walcott I rate him higher then Rooney so it'll be interesting to see what we do with him, I can't believe we'd spend that money just to lan him back though :\

As Jol said I can understand the referee missing it and not taking action at the time due to the Brown incident just before. However what I can't understand is how he can appeal. The incident was brought to the board who looked at it and decided to ban him. Now he's to go back to the same board and appeal, what a waste of time.

  6. I think I just had the longest match ever.

Brock Lesnar vs. Batista, Last Man Standing, Seventy-Seven Fucking Minutes.

It was seriously unbelievable. Countless F-5's, about 20 broken chairs, two broken commentary tables and the bastard still wouldn't stay down for the ten-count.

Whats worse is the eventual joy of winning the match was outweighed by the embaressment/living shame of doing so via a running bulldog >_<

    Well worth it.

  7. Speaking of the Crouch goal, was he officially credited with Liverpool's second yesterday?

At half-time SkySports News had it credited as a Given own-goal but I haven't heard anything since. I guess since they officially gifted him the second against Wigan, they felt it was only right to take one back.. :shifty:

  8. Although I think he's a right cock, I couldn't help but feel sorry for Bowyer yesterday.

It was a bad tackle in the first-place, worthy of a booking definitely, but the sending-off itself was well strict. If Bowyer was to be sent off for his reaction, Gerrard should have had the same for his involvement.

  9. United Agree Vidic Deal

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Spartak Moscow for 24-year-old central defender Nemanja Vidic.

An undisclosed fee for the Serbia and Montenegro international has been agreed and, subject to a medical and agreement on personal terms, Vidic will complete the move when the January transfer window opens on 1 January 2006.

Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson told ManUtd.com: "I am delighted the two clubs have come to an agreement.

"Nemanja is a quick, aggressive centre half and at 24 will be a terrific addition to the squad."

Vidic was captain of his first club Red Star Belgrade before moving to Spartak Moscow in 2004.

The 24-year-old attracted interest from Serie A, and was reportedly being tracked by Arsenal and Liverpool in recent months.

He was widely regarded as the key member of Spartak's defensive line when they finished as league runners-up in 2005. Vidic played in 27 league games, scoring twice.

He was also a member of Serbia and Montenegro's defence dubbed "the fabulous four" having conceded just one goal in the World Cup qualifiers.

  10. I've been playing the Master League constantly since I've been off school and my Inter Milan team have reached near-perfection, at least in the sense that I can finally beat all my mates. :P

I'm about three seasons with a big squad thats rotated frequently to accomodate the older players aswell as the younger developing players.

    GK: Toldo/Kahn(Reborn)

    DR: Javier Zanetti/Bonera

    DC: Burdiso/Cordoba

    DC: Samuel/Matterazzi

    DL: Riise/Raul Bravo

    MR: Joe Cole/Figo

    MC: Cambiasso/Xabi Alonso

    ML: Hleb/Stankovic

    AMC: Pirlo/Veron

    ST: Adriano

    ST: E'to/Martins

  11. Isn't Zebina just a right-back though?

Finnan whilst not spectacular, is solid enough for the time being in that position and if anything thats the least of Liverpool's priorities in the transfer window. Its not surprising Juve would be looking rid of him, they're defence this season has been great without him and they've more than adequate cover even if injuries do occur.

I thought I might aswell throw together something for this month's contest, shake off a bit of the creative rust. For my Sources, I stuck with the basic google image search for the Paris pic and the random guy there. It's not really that festive, but I'm happy enough with what came out.

  13. (Y)

I can't remember the last time we won 4-0, home or away.

With that in mind, its a great result and just the kind needed to get us back on track after the Champions League exit. With a busy Christmas period coming up again, lets hope we can put together a good run of results like last year and maybe narrow the gap with Chelsea.

  14. I was watching football update last night or whatever, one person was crying that Madrid should get him while the smart, intellectual guy who knew what he was seemingly talking about was asking all these questions "Why do they want him?" "They have fringe players who won't get to play" "Madrid probably won't continue their interest in him." (Even though I never heard Madrid particularly wanted him - I heard they were linked, but I don't remember saying Madrid saying "We want Keane.")
