November 1st, 1993 -Monday Night Raw

    Channel: USA Network

    Venue: Manhattan Centre, New York

    Attendance: 6,010

Announcers: Vince McMahon & Steve Corino

    By

    Bill Rapter

This Raw was the most highly anticipated RAW, since the debut of RAW just a short while ago. Many, fans, and wrestling purists alike, new that SOMETHING was going to go down. With, JJ Dillon recently brought in as a writer, many new the very foundation of the WWF would be turned upside in just one night.....

    -Jack Tunney Gets Jumped-

Raw opened up with President Jack Tunney giving an public address to let everyone know what was up. Here's what he said:

"Good evening......As many of you know, there has been a regime change here in the WWF. People have been shifted, some have lost their jobs, some have gotten jobs. However, let me make one thing clear (Tunney seems worried), I am still the President of the World Wrestling Federation, so, with that, comes some decisions I am going to make.

---First off, I was approached earlier by, IRS, and he has forfeited his side of the Tag Team Titles! I expect the Million Dollar Man, to do the same.

---Secondly, I am stripping Shawn Michaels of the WWF Intercontinental Champion. His failure to defend the title within 30 days leaves me no choice....(He looks like someone is telling him what to say)

---Finally, tonight, on RAW, we will see the debut of that regime....The Name of the regime is.......it's.............

With that, the camera went wide. And it revealed what seem to be a new regime in the WWF, standing right behind Jack Tunney--WWF Champion Bret Hart, The Mountie, Rick Martel, Raymond Rougeau, and Jim Neidhart!

With that, Bret Hart through Jack Tunney out of the view of the camera, while, Jim Neidhart, Martel, and Rougeau put the boots to Tunney. Bret Hart simply stared into the Camera, as Jimmy Hart and the Mountie walked closer to the camera, as Jimmy Screamed. ": That's right baby!!! A new regime has been formed! I'm back with the man that I brought back in the WWF years ago, WWF Champion, Bret Hart, great canadian wrestler and model, Rick Martel--our new Tag Team of Ray Rougeau and Jim Neidhart...and of course...the Law and Order of the WWF--The Mountie!! We are, the Canadian Foundation!!!

    84% Jack Tunney gained overness

-The Nature Boy and Lex Luger reunite-

We from the a close up of the Mountie, Jimmy & Bret Hart, to Ric Flair in the back. Mind you, the official show has not started yet. Lex Luger approaches him; "Yo Ric. It looks like The WWF is in for quite a big change. I think we should join forces, just like the horesemen days (small pop), and secure OUR spot here in the WWF!"

Flair accepts, and they both hug, officially turning Ric Flair. Bad acting.

Vince McMahon Introduces his colour commentator, Steve Corino.

Vince Mcmahon opened the show...finally. "Hello everyone and welcome to Mon-Day Night RAW!!!!! I'm Vince McMahon, and tonight in our Main Event, Ric Flair will team with Lex Luger againt The Undertaker, who from what I understand, wants to be called by his real name-Mean Mark Callous!....And I've just been handed this note....it's from the Canadian Foundation...Thier tag team, "The Canadian Connection", Ray Rougeau & Jim "The Anvil" Neidharthave entered themselves into the Tag Team Tournament, to determine new WWF Tag Team Champions!! Who will be thier opponents? We'll find out tonight!! But first...I don't know who my partner is....(Some odd music hits...out comes, 23 year old Steve Corino). It's Steve Corino!! The youngest announcer in the history of the WWF!!!

----Corino grabs Vinces mic. and yells, "Vince Mcmahon! Not only can I announce!!! Not only am I the youngest announcer, but I'm the youngest wrestler in the WWF! That's right! I can wrestle, too!. Steve goes in the ring, and waits for his opponent, Kamala to hit the ring.

Steve Corino d. Kamala. After he won the match, Steve returned to the Broadcast area with Mcmahon. Mcmahon, very impressed, hugged Corino whence congratulating him.

    -Bret Hart Explains his Actions-

Bret Hart, led by a jumping & screaming Jimmy Hart, came out followed by, in this order, The Mountie, Rick Martel, & the Canadian Connection (Ray Rougeau & Jim Neidhart)...Maybe they should just call this the Hart/Rougeau connection....Anyway, Bret was a very bitter man:

"Why Bret Why? Why would you align yourself once again, with the likes of Jimmy Hart! Why would I stand side by side with the Mountie? Why would I bring back Ray Rougeau and Jim Neidhart back to the WWF. I'll tell you. It's because of you HOGAN!!! Everyone knows that you're getting up there in age. But here's what they dont' know. They don't know about the power struggle that's going on in the back! They don't know that you don't want to leave the top! Well Hogan, if you're not going to pass the tourch the easy way, it's going to have to be the hard way!! Thats right Hogan, this Canadian Foundation was made by me...because these are the people that I can trust! These are the people that I grew up with!! These are the people that's going to help me and the Mountie get the old folk regime out of the WWF!

----That's right, it's time to get rid of the Flairs, the Hogans, the Duggans, blah blah! We've been watching them for the last 10 years! Now it's time for the Hart era! And the change starts tonight!

---Tonight, I want The Mountie to face Hulk Hogan! You'll have to give Hogan a wrestling lesson! tonight!"

Ted Dibiase d. Marty Jannetty, with the Million Dollar Dream.

------After the match Ted Dibiase waived to the isleway. Out Came Virgil! Together, they put the boots to Jannetty. At that point, the old 'rockers' music hit PA system, and out came....Shawn Michaels!! Where was Sensational Sherri? Michaels went on the top rop, and suprised the wrestling world by saving former partner Marty Jannetty. After, this, they hugged, re-uniting the Rockers! Dibiase and Virgil ran away.

They ran around the backstage area, as George kept screaming; "YOUUUUUUU!! . Why didn't they just look in the ring. Big pop for this classic duo.

The Canadian Connection (Ray Rougeau & Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart) d. The Real Americans (Bob Backlund & Mike Rotunda), when Ray Rougeau pinned Mike Rotunda.

The Real Americans? Isn't this the remake of the Mike Rotunda-Barry Windham team from the late 70's early 80s? Well, so far it's working. The crowd like it. They came out to 'Real American'. What is Hogan going to come out to then?

-Razor--er--Scott--Er...The Diamond Studd attacks the Gentle Giant-

We go to the back where people are talking about whats going on in the WWF. Many are shocked to see "Macho King", written as Randy Savage's name, on the official roster. Has he re-united w/ Sensational Sherri? Giant Gonzales was one of those people. He was sulking in the back. This was wierd. At this point, Scott Hall, sporting his Diamond Studd wear came to Giant Gonzalez and started making fun of him for crying.

"He's just a gentle Giant!!", screamed Vince Mcmahon, as commentor.

After that, Studd, gave him a cheapshot to the face, then threw a toothpick in Giant Gonzanles' eye....

    -Hogan gets mistreated-

Before Hogan's entry, The Mountie yelled " I want him to be announced as Terry Hogan!!! Because that's all he is to me; is TERRY! And, here, in the new WWF, senior citizens dont' get ring music!! Ha! Ha! Ha! (He and Jimmy Hart laugh hysterically)

After the Break, Terry Hogan is walking around with his head down. He can't believe he just lost to The Mountie. Yokozuna walks by Hogan and starts laughing at him. He doesn't say a word, since he doesn't speak English, but he is laughing. Hard. Really Hard. Insanley hard. Hogan looks up to the crowd (by looking at the cieling), to see if he should hit Yokozuna. But before Hogan can make up his mind, Ric Flair, Lex Luger, and the debuting Tully Blanchard has attacked Yokozuna!! It was an new version of the 4Horsemen '89, except--everyone's about 4 years older now. They put the boots to Yoko.

----At that point, Flair yelled, "Hogan!! Here's a group of guys that I have trusted over the years! And here's a group you can trust!! Wooooo!!! (Flair starts dancing). Thats right Hogan!! The Horsemen are back, and I'm asking you to be that fourth horseman! Woooo!!! (Flair is dancing again...he stops to make the four horsemen sign....Hogan makes it with him...crowd cheers.)

    PART I

y2gudge" Simply the best that could be produced, I must say Javert that the moniker 'Lord of the Diaries' is very much true with a show like that!"

Snyper"...and I have to say, it is one of the best on the board...  Anyone who has the dedication to stick with a diary for this long...well...I admire that "

EWRfan" Javert....this is the best show I have ever read.."

Beast"...it doesn't seem fake at all, you've built these characters up so much that this would probably be regarded as one of the greatest eras in wrestling history."

    TheReilDeal"!...great great great GREAT diary!"

  4. yEA, plus don't forget that Kilborn was also party of 'Worldwide Pants', the same company that Letterman owns. So, I doubt he'll jump ship if he returns.

This is horrible news. As others said this will tone down Conan. He won't be able to 'mess around' so often as he usually does with the earlier slot. The jokes will be less risque.

And now, some stupid boob will get the 12:35.

Kimmell. Please no. I'd rather watch Driesen(sp), the new host of the Late Late Show. Is he the new host?

Carson Daly. Probably. He's NBC's little embryo late night talk show host in training. He also sucks the cak.

Maybe they'll give it back to Letterman. He'll only be 65.

    ...

  5. Best hitter? The fucking babe! He was the greatest PLAYER ever. He could run with speed, pitch with effectivness and hit with power AND consistancy. Yea sure, the Era thing might play a little factor, but if anything baseball was harder back then...because the players didn't take enchancement drugs/steriods. And not only that, but I think the distance between home and the mound was actually shorter then. Also, players are more 'in shape' now. Harder workout routines. My point is, that today's players have it easier, AND are in better shape.

Maybe Ichiro could make a vote for the best hitter in the last decade or so, but even that's tough, because he's only been hot for a couple of years now. I think it's really too early in his career to compare him to GREAT hitters, like Williams, Boggs, and Mays. Nomar is no where in this league.

Back to bonds. Best power hitter? I'm sorry, but the steriod, or..."PERFORMANCE ENHANCERS" really get to me. Guys like Rose, Mattingly, Mays, Winfield....they accomplished great feats without that crap. IT (the steriods thing) all started with Mcgwire, who I think was just a notch below Bonds.

Now, Vlad Guererro (on the Angels). Now THAT'S a real power hitter. In two years this guy will be Bonds re-incarnated.

I'm not saying that Bonds is a shitty player...or even an average player. He is definately above average, but this drug things makes him the "Barry Bonds" of the last two years. Overated. I bet you he'll be like Giambi in a couple of years. Or like McGwire. Retired, with the side effects of excessive 'drug' use. And, of course we no Giambis deal. Big power hitter last year. Came through in the clutch many times for the yanks. he comes back this season, he's like 100lbs less than what he was before, and next thing you know he misses the whole season due to being 'weak'. Something's wrong with that, eh?

    Ricky Henderson:

Best leadoff man ever?: Probably. He did hit alot of lead off hr's. And probably was one of the best base stealers ever.

Best player ever?: No, but one of the best. Top 10.

And whilke we're comparing...Am I the only one that thinks that Buck Showalter is an AMAZING manager.?

He turned around the yanks, by managing them for a few years, rebuidling the team, and STARTING what Torre gets to inherit and finish. (Though I'm not putting down the Torre-Stottlemeyer combination. Legendary, and equally as effective. But I don't think Buck shoud've been fired)

(Buck) Did a damn good job with the Diamonbacks Expansion team. Got fired. Took time off and did ESPN. Then gets right back in the game and does ANOTHER AMAZING JOB with the TExas Rangers, putting them in the pennat race for a good part of this season Though they'll probably JUST miss the playoffs, it's AMAZING what this man has done. He's very young, but he deserves to be in the playoffs.

Yup. My sudden baseball rant of the day.
