You could try Godflesh, especially their compilation disc "In All Languages". I personally own that plus their second album "Streetcleaner", and am also hunting down some other albums. For songs, I'd recommend the following:
Avalanche Master Song
Crush My Soul
Circle Of Shit
I, Me, Mine
Love Is A Dog From Hell
Empyreal 2
-
Fear Factory
Coal Chamber (from "Chamber Music" and onwards)
Godflesh

HELL FREAKING YES! I was surfing meshuggah.net today to take a look at the bio on the band site, when I stumbled upon the disco/mp3-section. There, a blank picture next to "I", and with the title of Catch 33... IT IS A NEW ALBUM! Has to be the best day of my week so far, now that I found this out.
BTW, anyone heard the 21-minute "I"? I'm suddenly interested to hear whether or not they can keep it together for that long. Altough for the awesomeness that is Meshuggah, nothing should be too difficult.

Any and all Cowboy Bebop soundtracks, they are brilliant and I can easily pass hours listening to them.
Last Exile soundtracks, same thing as with the Cowboy Bebop soundtracks (I'm also expecting that Samurai Champloo's soundtrack will be nothing worse than these)
The soundtrack for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake mentioned earlier: Meshuggah and Lamb Of God rock my socks off.
And finally, the soundtrack to Freddy vs Jason. An angry and furious piece of metal, and made all the better by the appearances of bands like Chimaira.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck no.
If the band that I think of got into the top 20, whooo-ee

Free condoms for everyone? Free condoms for everyone.
As stated before, people who supposedly "go off" due to movies, TV shows, games and music are already so fucked up in the head that they can get the "inspiration" to mayhem from pretty much anything. Reading a Donald Duck magazine might cause a bloody rampage for someone who's in the right state of mind, FFS.
I personally have no problems with violence being shown on my TV, computer screen or shoved into my ears via music, but if you want to ban and censor, I think that before you go after the masses of polygon (who look plastic and inhuman AT BEST), you should go after the footage shown on TV news. Of course, I have no doubts that most of the people who want the video games and movies censored also want the TV coverage toned down, or watch the TV news with their kids and tell them what they can and can't watch there. Here's an idea: do the same when it comes to games, and movies, and music. Listen to their records, play a few rounds of games with them, let them choose a movie they'd really like to see. If it doesn't turn you into a raving maniac, I think it will be safe to say that neither will the kids.

Mine is...
1 - Metallica - Master of Puppets
2 - Opeth - Bleak
3 - Opeth - Deliverance
4 - Metallica - Fight Fire with Fire
5 - Opeth - Windowpane
6 - Lacuna Coil - My Wings
7 - Lacuna Coil - Falling
8 - Evanescence - Lies
9 - Iron Maiden - Children Of The Damned
9 - Dimmu Borgir - Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse
10 - Metallica - Call of Ktulu
I dig Opeth very mucho, and the Metallica songs are good. I love Call of Ktulu, and the two others aren't shabby either. The problems start when we get outside of those, however, as I've never heard Lacuna Coil, and Evanescence... Ugh. I don't dig Iron Maiden that much, only ever got into the Brave New World album and the song "Paschendale" off of their latest CD, and Dimmu Borgir makes me laugh. I'd say it could easily be 9/10 without Evanescence and Borgir, which brings it down to about 7 and half out of 10. If I had bought this CD, I'd personally feel that the tracks 8-10 (your list is faulty, Ktulu should be track number 11 >_>) were a waste of money compared to the rest.
Here's mah little CD, a tweaked version of my imaginary Battle Royale II soundtrack:
1. Chimaira - Indifferent To Suffering
2. Hatebreed - Doomsayer
3. Godflesh - Avalanche Master Song
4. Poison The Well - Mid-Air Love Message
5. Lamb Of God - 11th Hour
6. Fear Factory - Edgecrusher
7. Slayer - Dead Skin Mask
8. Jedi Mind Tricks - Boondock Saints Interlude + I Against I
9. Incubus - Sick Sad Little World
10. Sparta - While Oceana Sleeps
11. Korn - Wake Up Hate
12. Pantera - Fucking Hostile
13. Sick Of It All - Violent Generation
14. Stampin' Ground - The Death You Deserve
15. Raised Fist - Illustration Of Desperation
16. Meshuggah - Future Breed Machine (Mayhem Version)
17. Silent Hill 2 OST - Alone In Town
And a quick explanation for the placement of the songs:
- tracks 1-3 set the grounds for the BR game: contestants must endure hardship and suffering beyond anything, and the game itself spells doom for 99% if not all of them (Avalanche Master Song is there just for the extra noise and banging >_>)
- Mid-Air Love Message follows next to capture both the furiousness and desperation of the first few hours of combat, as well as the calmer side of things with alliances and stuff.
- 11th hour comes in once the competition has started and everyone has realized just what this all is about, followed by the violent Edgecrusher.
- Slayer's song is a tribute for those who have died at this point.
- The Jedi Mind Tricks are in there for a change of pace, as desperate people search for their friends and for cover while the battle rages on.
- Track 9 is for the society and the world in general that causes such games to be competed.
- Those who have killed at this point are feeling regret, sadness and a number of negative feelings. While Oceana Sleeps is for that mix of emotions.
- Tracks 11-15 are the soundtrack for the second part of the game, where the danger zones keep popping up and the number of heads goes down rapidly. Fast and furious, and the songs are themed properly.
- Future Breed Machine, especially the Mayhem Version, is a long-drawn, psychotic smashsmash-song for the last few rounds of battle with the survivors.
- And finally, Alone In Town is for the winner and the sole survivor.
Thankyou.

And, of course, the amount of bitching shall be astronomical once we have finished this
And for the record, I do not give a shit whether or not any given band is on the list (i.e. I shall not go on a verbal rampage against other people if the bands aren't there, of course I do care if they get on the list
), and I won't be losing my sleep when Led Zeppelin or some other I-don't-give-a-fuck-group is or isn't #1.

I don't have a huge problem with Slipknot but what I've heard from them is just screaming. I mean how the hell can you enjoy someone screaming in your ear? Also there personalities suck so badly from what I've see. Spitting in the air and swallowing it again, that's just sick. Maybe the rumour about them killing dogs on stage wasn't true, but they are still twisters
Go see Gorgoroth live. They slaughter lambs on stage and re-inact Jesus's crucifixion with real audience members.
Good shit.
That's and understament. Gorogorth fucking owns.
Though nothing tops the epic tale of Mayhem. Even though Ghaal of Gorgoroth is in jail now for torture-like violence.
Just how dedicated to Satan are you when you make a necklace with pieces of your singer's blown skull in it?
And that necklace guy is the only one of the original members who's still on the loose

Thought so. Oh well, I'll start rooting for Poison To Well to appear in there. I think they have a chance to appear before number 60, based on the way this is going, and then their chances will go downhill really fast.
-
Who the fuck are those besides HIM?
Erm, well, can't really complain. So far one of my bands is listed in the top 100, and I'm sure of several others being listed later. I'm quite sure that Static-X will be featured in the list, dead sure that Rage Against The Machine and System Of A Down will come in later, and I hope that Poison The Well made it as well.
Jook, can you tell me if Meshuggah, Raised Fist or Refused were part of those who didn't make it to the list whatsoever?
-
They finally gave your right hand citizenship, then? Did you plead to your loving relationship like I told you?
-
Rage Against The Machine
Raised Fist
Meshuggah
Chimaira
Dropkick Murphys
System Of A Down
Poison The Well
Static-X
Deicide
Refused

Godflesh - Streetcleaner and Meshuggah - Destroy Erase Improve. Both acted like very fine ear cleaners the first time I listened to them.

I've only seen the movie, so shush.
I didn't get into Mitsuko's character at first, but after watching the movie two or three times, I've really grown to think of her as THE antagonist instead of Kiriyama. Kiriyama's a bit of a comic relief, to tell you the truth, just the way he runs around with the gun waving in every possible direction is hilarious IMO
I really digged Chigusa in the movie over any other character, tho. I wish they'd given her more time on-screen.

They played it live here in Finland on the 28th, and it was a good listen. Liked the cover version of "One" better, tho.
And "Y'all Want A Single" rocks live

I need that album
I only got Porcelain now, which I bought recently.
Alongside the Sparta album, I have bought:
Deicide - Scars Of The Crucifix
Deicide - Once Upon The Cross
My Chemical Romance - I Brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Love
My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge
Static-X - Wisconsin Death Trip
I had the money, so why not spend it... I'll stress this, I HAD the money.

The earliest I can remember, I started listening to Finnish 80's & 90's rock music simply because that's what we had in the house. After that, came a heavy MTV phase, which has now gradually evolved and dumped me into a mismatched world of metal, industrial music (Static-X live = ownage), jrock, punk and "misc."
Oh yeah, the Finnish rock is still there too.
-
Deicide, those bastards
Cancelled their show here in Finland for no real reason. And we didn't even get anyone decent to replace them, sucked nuts to listen to local death/black groups when you've paid for Deicide.
-
Well, you wanted others, so...
Rancid - Journey To The End Of The East Bay
Rancid - Ruby Soho
Refused - The Shape Of Punk To Come
Refused - Liberation Frequency
Refused - Summer Holidays vs Punk Routine
Propagandhi - Todays Empires, Tomorrows Ashes
Propagandhi - Haillie Sellasse, Up Your Ass
Six Feet Under...Should Die
