  1. Wouldn't that make her a bit older than 18? And I laugh at anyone who says they wouldn't shag Jessica Alba because she's a bad actress. Good list YI.
  2. Alba has always turned me off with her epically bad acting. I just can't get over the fact that she shows the emotional range of a popsicle stick, its maddening. Found myself disagreeing with most of the 'personal verdicts,' but it was fun. Thanks for doing this.
  3. The Nines - 7.5/10 An almost impossible movie to describe...Ryan Reynolds shows his versatility, as he's terrific in this serious role. The Nines tells three seperate stories with the same actors, whose lives seem to mysteriously overlap and coincide. Placing it in a genre is difficult...you could say its a drama, or a thriller, or sci-fi. It covers everything from the existence of God, to the creation of the world...to how difficult it is to get a TV pilot picked up. All I can say is I recommend it.
  4. I'm curious to see what some of you think, as these are both pretty popular actors. IIRC Iron Man is set for early May, with The Incredible Hulk coming a month or two later. Personally, as a total sucker for comic movies, I'm looking forward to both. I know there was alot of hate for Hulk, but for those who didn't like it, there's a new cast for the leads, new writers and a new director. Norton is great and has become immensely popular judging by the favorite actors voting thread...but I'm having some trouble imagining him in this role, for some reason. Downey seems like a really good fit. I haven't seen too much of his work, but recently saw him in Zodiac and was impressed. The two characters have some similarities, so this ought to work well.
  5. 1. The Shawshank Redemption 2. The Departed 3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl 4. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 5. A Beautiful Mind 6. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back 7. Crimson Tide 8. Sin City 9. Rain Man 10. Face/Off 11. Gladiator 12. The Usual Suspects 13. Kill Bill: Volume 1 14. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 15. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King 16. Air Force One 17. Monty Python and the Holy Grail 18. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End 19. V for Vendetta 20. Die Hard With a Vengeance I'm sure I'll wind up editting at some point.
  6. 1. Russell Crowe - A bit surprised he hasn't been mentioned yet. I love the ability of an actor to portray something completely different from one role to the next, which is the same reason Depp is on this list...Crowe from Master and Commander and Crowe from A Beautiful Mind aren't much alike, yet both are outstanding. Great performances in 3:10 To Yuma, Gladiator and Cinderella Man as well, can't wait for my video store to get the American Gangster shipment. 2. Denzel Washington - Yeah. He's Denzel Fucking Washington, and he kicked ass in Crimson Tide along with about 78426128 other movies. Still can't believe I missed out on American Gangster in the theatres. 3. Kevin Spacey - Delivered awesome performances in The Life of David Gale, K-Pax and American Beauty...I feel like he brings some unnamed unique quality to his roles that nobody can come close to duplicating. His work is just so...his. 4. Johnny Depp - I know everybody loves him, and therefore everyone else naturally calls him overrated, but consider the following performances: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (terrible film overall), Pirates of the Caribbean, Finding Neverland. These are three different characters in completely different cultures, with completely different appearances, mannerisms and voices. This guy pulls off all these roles so convincingly that I'd swear they were different people if it weren't for the credits. Anyone who can change themselves like that from one role to the next and make me forget they're an actor in front of a camera belongs on this list. 5. Christian Bale - My personal favorite actor, just couldn't bring myself to call him the greatest actor alive today. If there's a bit of crazy in the character, be forewarned, Christian Bale WILL steal your movie. 6. Leonardo DiCaprio - Just the opposite of Bale, this is not really a favorite of mine, but as another poster said there is just no denying the talent here, and his evolution from Titanic to what he is now has been something to see. The Departed was the straw that broke the camel's back, and its time for me to come out and admit it: the guy can act. 7. Ewan McGregor - I like the charming nature he brings to his roles, in other words, he seems to naturally have a way of getting you to like him. I liked him alot in Big Fish, and especially Trainspotting. 8. Robin Williams - Surely he seems trivial to some, but he can clearly do comedies (Mrs. Doubtfire is still hilarious), but he can also get serious...in his own comedic way. The Fisher King and The Birdcage were two really enjoyable performances that walked the line between the two. Although not my favorite role, he was good in Good Will Hunting as well...and I'd give him the title of 'World's Best Voiceover Performer' in a heartbeat. Lastly, Jumanji was a real fun movie in my opinion, and wouldn't have been anything notable if it weren't for Williams in the lead. 9. Edward Norton - Yeah, everybody else is right. He's fantastic. 10. Jack Nicholson - No explanation needed.
  7. Why are there so many British chicks that are skinny to the point that its weird? That model that was just posted, and Keira Knightley...these women would be gorgeous if they'd just put on a few pounds.
  8. I like that idea, Firestorm. May just go with something like that. Here's the upload: http://www.savefile.com/files/1375549 Workers, Alter Egos, Tag Teams and Stables are the only sections that have seen work done.
  9. Sorry, double-post, accidentally clicked Reply when I had thought I'd clicked Edit.
  10. As work has continued on the workers I've begun to wonder exactly how certain things will work, so I'd like to see if there are some ideas out there. -Do you think that the names of the promotions should be simply the name of the movie series (Harry Potter, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, etc.), or should the promotions be portrayed as actual wrestling companies (for example, maybe Magical Dueling League, Empire Sponsored Wrestling, East India Wrestling Company, Lords of the Ring, etc.)? The difference being that with the first option, I'm not sure what to do with stuff like Titles and Events...but if the promotions are actual entertainment companies, there's no problem with just kinda making up names for that stuff. Let me know what you think. -Also, I've been trying to figure out how the Television section can be handled. Perhaps the film production companies could be the in-game TV networks, and the individual films (or lines of films, for more broad promotions like Marvel) could be the television programs. For example, Lord of the Rings would have three TV shows, Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and Return of the King, all on the New Line Cinema network...just need to figure out how to determine days of the week and timeslots for the shows, and TV ratings for the networks. How does this sound? -Thirdly, the Staff section...I've been thinking that it would simply be left blank, causing the game to create its own Staff pool, and forcing the player to sign up his own complete Staff. My only other idea was to do something like taking everyone who worked on a film's music and making them medics, taking all stuntmen and making them referees, etc. My only problem with this is I'd just be plucking random names off a list of people who worked on a movie, and wouldn't know what Talent level to give them. Would people prefer the game to create it's own Staff pool, or random names of real movie staff members with randomized Talent ratings? Thoughts? That's about it for now. Progress has been better now that my classes have settled into a routine...Lord of the Rings is now done, and we're onto Star Wars. If anyone is interested in seeing the data, I'd again be glad to upload it. Thanks for reading.
  11. I've never been that attracted to Elisha Cuthbert. Too generic- and plastic-looking, maybe. That, and her character is the only boring part of 24.
  12. That is the weirdest picture of Liv Tyler I've ever seen...
  13. Just thought I'd give you a heads up in case you're working on an update, the Handbook says Chris Mordetsky caused controversy by stealing the Piledriver finisher, but both his finishers are still listed as the Masterlock. I thought I saw another discrepancy, if I can remember what it was I'll edit. Thanks for all the work guys, this really is an awesome scenario.
  14. I liked Costner in Mr. Brooks. Kind of a strange movie that was mediocre, but he was good.
  15. 1. Kate Hudson 2. Natalie Portman 3. Rihanna 4. Kate Beckinsale 5. Beyonce 6. Marisol Nichols 7. Jennifer Connelly 8. Lindsay Lohan 9. Anna Farris 10. Amy Poehler
  16. Wow, does this Santana deal have me psyched for opening day. As a Mets fan you never wanna get too excited because it seems like disappointment is always just around the corner, but the hope is there...
  17. Mandy Moore really isn't that hot, she's just awfully cute. But I don't see why she'd "make your skin crawl."
  18. My sig is a liar and Depp is not my favorite actor, but good god. Johnny Depp: the character actor. The internet is a strange place sometimes.
  19. I've caught him on Comedy Central a couple times. Funny stuff.
  20. Concerning 3:10 To Yuma Spoiler: Click here to viewMy only problem with 3:10 was the ending...why the hell would Russell Crowe's character go along with what Bale's character was doing the whole time? It just went against what they had established about him, and I didn't completely buy it. Still a good movie with fantastic acting, and the end is still the best part of the movie...that just irked me a bit, personally.
  21. Don't be such an arse. A man is dead for god's sake.
  22. Children of Men - 5.5/10 Its probably my fault I didn't get too into it as I came in expecting more of an action film. I usually get into any kind of sci-fi movie, but this one was a bit boring in parts, and was simply a strange movie, I don't know how else to put it. The acting was good enough to be entertaining at times, but overall I didn't see as good a movie as I was expecting. Trainspotting - 8/10 Never saw this one until now despite having some friends that talk about it alot...very entertaining movie with a unique story and a couple of scenes that will stick with you. Ewan McGregor was excellent.
