  1. Scoring 3 goals against a team that are superior to yourselves is a much better achievment than coming back against a team of roughly similar quality. And dealing in "what ifs" is ridiculous. Have Stevenage done that? Nope, so your argument is invalid. And you're still in the minority, it was called "the mother of all comebacks" because of who it was against. All you've done is tried to put a negative on it (oh, you looked for penalties, played defensively blah blah blah). And please, don't avoid the question: Can't you be happy that an English team won it? Like pigeon said, it's the usual suspects taking whatever chance they can to take shots at Liverpool. JP; to be fair Liverpool have hardly been great this season either, and we've had plenty of problems. ← The point you are deliberately avoiding is that you scored three goals, yes. You came back against a good team, yes. But you didn't come back to win, which is what so many other teams have done. ←

  3. For the third time, it WAS a good comeback, but not the best. It's all relative aswell. Teams coming from several goals late on against teams of roughly a similar level regardless of which level it is are surely making the equal comeback? Otherwise we could say that Stevenage comeing back from 1 - 0 to draw with newcastle was the greatest comeback after all they were one down against a team of vastly superior quality. The fact is it wasn't that spectacular, there have been some greats, and this was a good one but nowhere near one of the best of all time.
  4. I'm with arse, I'd rather Ashton over AJ because he's a better player and as he pointed out those goals are a false statistic as a large percentage were penalties. He'd have half that tally at the Lane, we never get bloody penalties!
  5. Depends on what you mean by comeback. If your talking Champs League only then probably this one, if Liverpool had played like that for the rest of the game rather then sitting back and defending for the next hour then I'd have a completely different view of it all. If your talking about comeback in all competitions then no. Aside from the fact this happens every two to three weeks in the English leagues somewhere, the winner would be Man City at White Hart Lane in the cup last season (well two ago now). 3 Nil down at half time with 10 men, they come back and score 4, incredible stuff, though excrutiating to watch at the time.
  6. I suppose the obvious thing then, is as that little toffee Gerrard said, is to say you played for penalties Besides as a Spurs fan I've seen plenty of games when the team are on the ropes of the opposition clinching it, Liverppol could've won in the 90 they chose not to. As for the Garcia chance, were it not for Schevchenco and JDT missing great chances themselves they would've won 5 - 4.
  7. Shut the fuck up. All I've heard from the likes of you since we beat Chelsea has been bitching. "Oh, it's going to a boring game", then when it turns to be one of the best finals ever, it's "well you played for the draw". FUCK OFF. Newsflash: We played to win by playing Kewell and got found out, I'll happily admit that. Rafa made a mistake playing him (and I hope to God he's gone next season), and we were just got away with it. Our formation at the start of the game was pretty attacking, with Baros, Kewell, Garcia and Riise all attack-minded, and we got fucked up. Hamann came on and made the difference, but the formation we were forced into (because, IIRC, Steve Finnan picked up a thigh injury) at half-time was naturally defensive. Gerrard was switched over to the right to control Serginho, because Smicer can't defend. That took away another attacking player (although he was still playing defensively as well), and by extra time all the players were physically and mentally exhausted. Milan's experience told at that point (and they had 2 fresher players than ourselves, as they didn't have to make a change so early or at half time), so for them to attack was natural. ←
  8. It would've been better I think if Liverpool had played to win, you went looking for the draw and did the job so Liverpool fans should be delighted. Why anyone else should be glad for them I don't know though :\ Personally I do think they should be in it, but shouldn't have been at the start of the year. The Champions League is becoming a joke and they shouldn't let 148 teams in just because they come from a big football nation. The maximum should be 3, the league champs, FA Cup winners and previous champion, but that's all another topic!
  9. Liverpool were holding out for a draw the minute the ref gave them that 3rd I think, Milan have probably been marginally the better since then. Still could go either way.
  10. Personally I want them out quickly, less chance of us all getting banned from Europe again... Finally spotted an offside flag there *applauds*
  11. That counts as being official news doesn't it? He'll definetly head to the Premiership, he's to good for the Championship, though I am curious as to where he'll end up. ←
  12. Poor refereeing turning the tie round, a goal when Milan should've had the freekick for offside and a Gerrard in diving shock :\ 30 minutes now, it's anyones.
  13. Which is why he never gets the winner. Yes most of the time he'll chortle and say "what a surprise" for the minor positions but using his theory the same nation would win it every year. He's clueless.
  14. You won't get Wallace in the Viking campaign since he came after that expires. Basically put historical leaders and generals come in over time, with the natural history and timelines and names and numbers will have similar counterparts, e.g. Henry VIII will likely be a hugely influential, unpious leader with some negative traits. I think to get Wallace, you'd probably need to let Scotland rebel at around 1290 and he'll pop up. Not certain on that though.
  15. Yeah, shame most of the time he's wrong...
  16. We still beat them both times including knocking 5 past them for fun. It's a move backwards as far as I can see. Not that their are many places domestically he can move up to.
  17. Personally I think in Simon Davies you've got someone who can do the job effectively, he's actually one of my 5* rated first teamers alongside King, Defoe, Robinson and Veron. Yet still we're onbly mid table crap :'(
  18. Notice how Terry cheered as opposed to calling it a fix when the Irish give us points. Penishead.
  19. Problem was you could have a superb Ginola or a shit one, the shit one showed up for most of the big games unfortunately.
