You're right, I'm 16 =P Turning 17 in August. I've been using computers since late Elementary/Early Middle School.

I would be a good judge if it weren't for the fact that I enter every monthly contest, lol I've been doing graphics for around 7 years or so now myself, though obviously not the same 'graphics' as what we see now. I started out using Microsoft Word for graphics

Looking back on it now I'm really sad, 'cause FSF says he should have graded me as a 7/10 which woulda tied me for first... Awww, lol.

I was trying to portray a futuristic battleground, but I failed =P The fog around the edges was Halo 2-inspired from the parasite-infested maps, lol. Glad you liked it though.

I'm not so sure on that Matzat, I don't think everyone was trying to pack everything they could into their graphics...only a few, yeah. But now everyone. The deal is, these are mostly graphic designs--not logo designs. Yours was a logo design and what everyone else is doing are graphic designs, hence the difference. I can show you zany, weird and just 'out there' graphics I've seen...and sure, there's a few in here over-the-top, but there's plenty that is subtle too. Subtle enough to work, anyway.

Zachalous: Get rid of the Sabin cut, yeah. But the background just ain't working man, it's very simple and the color isn't all that great. I'd go for something that matches the logo's color scheme maybe, but nothing that makes the logo get lost in it either. Look at some backgrounds other people have done and try to think of something similar, practice that for a bit then try something else. Start combining the tactics you use, work with your own style, and you should come up with something pretty good. Oh, and he was talking about Wiseguy's

My cousin Shane is a professional motorcyclist. His real name is Travis Shane Willis, but everyone calls him by his middle name in my family because his dad's name is Travis too. It'd cause confusion =P Anyway, they have a website with shitloads of pics from their shows. Check it out, I thought it'd be something cool to share. I've known him since I was a little kid actually, so he's sort-of like a distant brother moreso then a cousin. Check out the pictures on the website from their shows, I'm just awed by some of the things they can do on those motorcycles. Just blows my mind.

True, however generally speaking during monthly graphics contests one desires to show his or her skills in graphics in an attempt to win said contest. It's kinda how it works I agree, there are some things that are overboard and all, but people are atleast trying what they think would be the best design. That's what I did, that's what you did, and really the only way of going overboard is if they started trying to shove everything they could into it. The only two things I really see as 'overkill' would be the one with AJ Styles in it and the animated .gif that takes an hour to finish spelling the name of the board. That goes a bit far, yeah, but the fact is that hey atleast people are trying right? :thumbsup: And see, there IS a difference between what you 'can do and need/need not to do', yes. Obviously, no one's going to wait around for the .gif to finish, and if they saw a pic of AJ Styles they'd expect a wrestling based forum. Since EWB is more broad-ranged, it's better to try and make a graphic that represents that. That's what I went for with mine anyway. It's fine to have a simple design, as most are REALLY well done and good looking,a dn they do attract attention. However, when I go to the main page and look I wanted to try something that I thought would work well for it. I suppose it boils down to matter of opinion really though, as I feel there's plenty of people's designs on this page that would work. Could possibly be because of the fact that the winner's could go on the main page, and generally speaking you want to have something easy on the eyes but attention getting at the same time. But damn Matzat, you wanna talk weird effects....how the hell did you blend in that 'I' in 'IV'? It's like it's invisible. [/srcsm]

I won't correct it because I'm not sure if we're allowed to edit our entries after posting them, but I'll admit to the word 'Sleek' being spelt wrong and instead being spelt as 'Sleak'

Parents got me Halo 2 for Christmas, I've been hooked on the Campaign mode. Fuckin' awesome, I'm loving it. Wish I could get this damned internet adapter thing though for X-Box Live set up, I don't know what the fuck to do.

All right...asking this question because apparently this is a REALLY old school show on Nick. I don't remember this show at all, but I'm sure I saw an episode of it atleast once because it sounds SOMEWHAT familiar...let's see if anyone remembers it. The title of the show as 'The Seven Cities Of Gold' EDIT: Oh, and another one: Mr. Wizard Yet Another EDIT: Oh, and while I still can...does anyone remember Cousin Skeeter? For what it was worth, that was a fuckin' funny show back then. Not as old school as the others, but still pretty old.

ALLEN STRANGE, THAT WAS IT!! FUCK, I LOVE YOU And I loved 100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd. Did they ever actually FINISH the damn show or did it just get cancelled? I WAS WAITING FOR THE FINAL ONE!!! I mean it was a novel concept, 100 episodes for 100 deeds. But the damn dog didn't even DO a few deeds in some of them. The beauty was though there was character development in those, along with most of the other episodes. Pretty cool shit. Fairly Odd Parents is the best thing Nick has on air right now. The style of humor REALLY takes me back, because there's so many double meanings to the jokes and refferences to shit that it just takes me back to the days of the Looney Toons or some shit. I still remember when they played Loony Toons on Nick like really fuckin' early in the morning too.
