I beat the demon wall, the first esper (spoilers still not working) SPOILER: And Vossler END SPOILERS I'm just about to head off to the Giza Plains, is the golden amulet there?

I'm actually just killing everything on the map while looking for the mark, so I'm getting exp. The necklace does seem like a good thing to get. I won't just go to the Sandsea because it just feels pointless to me, running around killing killing things. At least the hunts have a purpose.

2 and a half hours of hunting has only gotten everyone up to 14, except Ashe whos 15. This levelling up stuff takes a while. If DMN is struggling with the first Demon wall in his early 20's I won't bother with it. I'll likely get everyone up to 15 and then fight the second one again.

That would make sense but earlier random buttons got me 2000 and what was lit up got me 200. They could have been different Demon walls with different defence stats though. Your probably right. Thanks.

I have 1 quickening between 6 characters and not enough LP to find anymore. You're both saying I'm underlevelled so even if it is possible, I'll just do a few more hunts before trying the second wall again. Although you get extremely overpowered swords for beating the first one. And 2 questions: What do you get out of chaining? What are you supposed to press during a quickening? EDIT: Never mind the chaining the manual explained that. But I still don't get the quickening.

Before the battle I'm told not to be alarmed by the numbers, take out the leaders and the others will follow. I'll level up a bit go back to a save point. Try again taking out the judges first. If that doesn't work I'll take Benji's advice. EDIT: And I'm doing it first thing tomorrow.

Whats a quickening? EDIT: Just found it in the manual, I haven't come across any on the licence board yet.

How levelled up where you? I'm Vaan - 9 Balthier - 9 Fran - 10 Basch - 11 I think. And Vosslers 14 but a guest.

I can't get spoiler tags to work and I presume everyone's completed the game or at least past this bit: SPOILERS: I keep getting beat by two judges and about six imperial swordsman. While saving Ashe from the sky place. Any tips?

Finally this game has arrived. I hated the new walking around combat system at first but I'm slowly warming to it 2 hours in. I'm at the point where you get the second party member, Penope or something. The save crystals seem few and far between which is going to get really annoying for someone who consistently dies (I.E me) but the FMV's are beautiful and the story is definitely intriguing. Will XIII use the tradional combat system or the one used in XII?
