  1. For most of them, because the world doesn't begin and end in alternative metal.
  2. How is Nirvana's impact felt today? They were an in-the-moment type of thing. Nirvana's rise, IMO, was due to the fact that hair metal was already dying before they hit the scene, and Axl Rose and GnR were imploding right as Nirvana was getting popular. But what is their long term impact on music? People are still as rabid for GnR as they ever were, and many hair metal bands are still out touring and putting out records, and grunge music has pretty much gone by the wayside.
  3. I guess the obvious choice here would be "The Spaghetti Incident?" Also I'd go with "10,000 days".
  4. http://www.myspace.com/thepinkspiders The Pink Spiders. They'll probably be all over your local rock radio station soon if they aren't already. I really wanted to hate this band. But that song "Little Razorblade" has been stuck in my head for the past week.
  5. HOW ON EARTH are Tool and Radiohead on this list? I don't think anyone can deny the effect these bands have had on music, whether you like them or not. How is Green Day important? Because they hopped on the Bash Bush bandwagon and made a crappy pop record that preteen girls bought? There are so many more punk bands more important to music in the last 20+ years than Green Day. BLINK 182?!!! Garbage.
  6. Don't bother logging on that early. If it says 8:45 for Axl, he won't actually hit the stage until probably 10:45.
  7. I'm shocked that everyone is gonna be back for this. I figured Bam and Knoxville would be too "big" for Jackass now.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. Storm In A Teacup = Top 5 RHCP song ever. Don't even try to argue. K THX
  9. 1.) Axl Rose 2.) Mike Patton 3.) Layne Staley 4.) Bon Scott 5.) Robert Plant 6.) Eddie Vedder 7.) Trent Reznor 8.) Maynard James Keenan 9.) Lemmy 10.) Henry Rollins
  10. Eh, I guess I'm in the minority, but I just can't get into this song at all. If that's the catchiest thing they have to offer from a 30 song album, then color me worried. It's RHCP totally on auto-pilot: -Funky, bass driven verse: Check -Guitar heavy, anthematic chorus: Check. -Lyrics about California: Check. The verse is boring, the chorus is totally forgettable, and the lyrics are just blah. I had high hopes for this album, but I get the same feeling off of Dani California as I did the first time I heard By The Way, which is - "this is it?" Sidenote: I just realized Californication was released 7 years ago. Fucking A, time flies.
  11. From Mike Duffy of The Detroit Free Press: Shows returning: ABC: "According to Jim", "Boston Legal", "Desperate Housewives", "George Lopez", "Grey's Anatomy", and "Lost". CBS: All 3 "CSI" shows, "Cold Case", "Criminal Minds", "Ghost Whisperer", "How I Met Your Mother", "NCIS", "The New Adventures of Old Chistine", "Numbers", " The Unit", "Two and a Half Men", and "Without a Trace". NBC: "Crossing Jordan", "ER", "Las Vegas", all 3 Law and Order shows, "Medium", "My Name Is Earl" and "The Office". Fox: "House", "24", "American Dad", "Bones", "Family Guy", "King of the Hill", "Prision Break", "The O.C.", "American Idol", "The Simpsons", and "The War at Home". CW: "All of Us", "Everybody Hates Chris", "Gilmore Girls", "Girlfriends", "Smallville", and "Supernatural". (He didn't mention it but I think America's Next Top Supermodel is renewed for the network) Shows Done or "on hiatus": ABC: "Alias", "Crumbs", "Emily's Reasons Why Not", "Hot Properties", "In Justice", "Jake in Progress", "Less Than Perfect", "Night Stalker", and "Rodney". CBS: "Courting Alex", "Still Standing", "Yes Dear", "Threshold". NBC: "E-Ring", "Four Kings", "Inconceivable", "Joey", "Surface", "Teachers", "Book of Daniel", "The West Wing", and "Will and Grace". Fox: "Arrested Development", "Head Cases", "Killer Insinct", "Kitchen Confidential", "Malcolm in the Middle", "Reunion", "Stacked", and "That 70's Show." CW: "7th Heaven", "Charmed", "Cuts", "Eve", "Just Legal", "Living with Fran", "Love Inc", "Related", "Sex, Love, and Secrets", "South Beach", "Twins", and "What I Like About You." What Duffy describes as "Could go either way, in doubt": ABC: "Commander in Chief", "Freddie", "Hope and Faith", "Invasion", "Sons and Daughters", "The Evidence". CBS: "Close to Home", "Out of Practice", "The King of Queens". NBC: "Scrubs", "Heist" and "Conviction". Fox: "Free Ride", "The Bernie Mac Show", and "The Loop". CW: "Everwood", "Half and Half", "One on One", "One Tree Hill", "Reba", and "Veronica Mars". Duffy says in his opinion Scrubs, Veronica Mars, Sons and Daughters, Everwood, and Commander in Chief, all deserved to be saved despite low ratings and gave info. where viewers can call and write to try and get them renewed. He says the way things are going next season could be the last season for Bernie Mac, The OC, The West Wing, Invasion, and The Loop if (as listed)some of them even make it to next season as it is. And in his opinion shows that should be canned if not years ago are According to Jim, Fear Factor, Hope and Faith, Wife Swap/Trading Spouses, and ER.
  12. Unquestionable Truth was a total ripoff of Rage Against the Machine. Just plain terrible. Durst tried to ditch the spotlight and create some non-mainstream cult album that would bring back all the "underground" fans and it was pure shit.
