  1. Transformers Devastation was decent. Loved the art style and the core gameplay. Weapon crafting was wank, and its a bit on the short side, so it gets pretty repetitive pretty quickly. I got 40 quid's worth of entertainment out of it anyway.

  2. I'm familiar with concepts like the pick and roll, I just don't watch often enough to even tell you who all the playoff teams last year. Just felt like compared with Live (again, this is from playing 2k14), I needed to read a massive goddamned book to know all the controls.

I used to like Live before it went to shit, probably never was as realistic, but I could jsut pick up and play and get some good looking stuff going.

  3. Of course dropping the Bills D for whoever is playing the Browns this week backfires. 27 points left on the bench and Miami  managed like 8.

Happy with my start so far, need Brees and Julio to get me 30 points to keep the streak alive though. Probably not going to be highest scoring though :(

Crowell on the trade block btw.

  4. I love that they let you play around with the league structure so much (really wish the NFL would loosen their stranglehold over Madden so I could make a USA v World conference structure). I'm hesitant to buy though, last one I had was 2k14 and felt completely lost with the controls. Especially being a casual fan.

  5. There are a lot of drops this year. I believe it's their way of balancing out the QB stats as they don't want to frustrate casuals with more inaccurate passes. Defense is definitely tougher, running I've gotten better with practice. I found what helped me was not using the sprint trigger before getting to the LOS, it tends to make you bump into your linemen and weirdly pull them off their blocks early.

External hard drives on the XB1 are pretty awesome as well - depending on the speed of the HD you're using you can even minorly effect the performance of certain high stress games.

Yeah, if you get one that's USB 3.0, it'll actually write to it faster than it does to the internal disk.

  7. Really? I think it's one of the best they've done for years. I've got some really good sliders on the go, but it was pretty decent out of the box I thought. Where are you having trouble?

Since the thread wasn't active, I picked Madden up for Xbox as I had a couple of local friends who wanted to do a franchise. I may pick it up for PS4 once I have regular income if this gets going. It'd be a shame for EWBFL to die :(

  8. Gutted about Gould, last member of the NFC Champions from '06. He was shaky last year, but he looked decent in camp from what I heard, he's just not highest-paid-kicker-in-the-league decent (thanks Phil Emery). The thing that surprises me is that they didn't do it sooner, they didn't bring in anyone to compete with him through preseason/camp or anything.

Sitton is a smart move, I'm not a fan of players signing for rivals, but we need help, and if we can beat Green Bay with one of their own on our side, than all the better, I guess.

  9. I don't get what the big deal with the Xbox pad needing batteries is. I use a play and charge kit, and my Xbox pad last way longer, my PS4 pad almost constantly needs to be plugged in. Plus, with the official play and charge kit at least, the pad works as a wired one when plugged in (wireless radios switch off and button input is sent through the cable). I find the Xbox pad has some actual weight behind it, the PS4 one feels like a plastic toy to me. And they never bloody do anything with that touchpad.

Xbox Live is still a far superior service and doesn't go down for maintenance all the time.

It's obviously personal preference, but I much prefer the Xbox dashboard interface and store, PSN is much slower to load for me. And while you can't switch out internal hard drives with the Xbox, you can use external hard drives, and if you use one with USB 3.0, it'll actually read and write to it faster than the internal drive.

I know some games run at higher res on PS4 than XB1, but honestly, unless they're side by side and you're specifically looking for detail (instead of, y'know, playing the game), most people aren't going to notice the difference.

I use my PS4 for exclusives (Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted, MLB etc.), but my everyday gaming is done on Xbox. Oh, and I have a Chromecast plugged in to my Xbox too.

  10. The drops and fumbles are an issue that is being addressed by patch (it might be out already, last I heard it was awaiting certification).

I've only briefly played the EA Access trial (they decided I'd used all 10 hours when it was actually about 3), but I thought the running game was pretty good. Is this the typical issue of people trying to sprint from the get go rather than trying to find their lane?
