Apparently Dana White has now banned that type of attire in the Octagon. You have to admit though, it made him stand out.

I started a new game of Fallout 3 the other day (never have finished one myself, but I've seen it finished several times), and MAN I forgot just how immersive and well done the whole atmosphere of this game is. Truly gives you that "there's nothing left" feeling like few games have ever managed to do for me.

How many rings does he have?
Sorry, but that's a fairly ridiculous argument, especially when you're talking about a wide receiver.
-
Yeah, go ahead and put me down for Divine Comedy Mafia; Canticle Two: Purgatorio.
Not sure how many players yet.
-
I'm in games already, which is really enough, but if you NEED somebody else, I'll do it. Or you can put me on a replacement list too.

That's exactly what I'm saying. If he did end up leaving Strikeforce under less than pleasant circumstances, do you think the UFC would sign him, knowing that? That's what I mean. It's all more than likely a moot point anyway, but it was just something I thought was interesting to consider.
He didn't and isn't leaving Strikeforce under less than pleasant circumstances, though. He's too hurt to make the date which Showtime is apparently unwilling to budge from, so the winner of the reserves bout is taking his place.
Given how surprisingly civil Dana's quotes were about the situation, I'm assuming this was ultimately a Showtime decision and not a ZUFFA one. But then, that doesn't make sense since Overeem is one of Strikeforce's top 3/4 draws, so who the fuck knows?
Yeah, that's why I was saying it's a moot point anyway, since now everyone is saying that it's not the case that he was ever looking at just leaving.

Just speculation from a couple of different places that there may be more to this (as in contract issues) than just him not wanting to fight in September. Probably nothing, but at least worth thinking about.
-
So anybody think Overeem ends up in UFC now that things may be over between him and Strikeforce? Or are the two companies too "close" for that to happen?
-
Uh oh, sounds like a pro.

Just got off the phone with Dana White and...
Nah, I think that joke's just about run its course.
Seriously though, how stacked is 136 looking right now (before the inevitable last minute change of plans due to everyone getting injured all at once)?

No post restrictions, please. In.
But yeah Rider, love to play.
-
Why not a 4-way fight on top? Liddell vs.Couture vs. Ortiz vs. Evans. Ratings GOLD I tells ya.

Yeah, like Theatre Mafia. Right? Right? Amirite? Seriously though...

Gotta figure is he loses, that's it for Hughes.

Leben's not my favorite fighter, but I'm always up for the possibility of Koscheck getting his face punched in.
Or Josh Koscheck laying on Chris Leben for 3 Rounds?
I doubt that'll be how it goes. But yeah, that would suck.

I wanna see what Sonnen comes up with as verbal ammo to use on Stann. But yeah, should be fun to listen to the crowd reaction on this one. Be interesting to see if the winner gets the next title shot, or has to wait...

Hmm, interesting.

You are making it sound like Machida is this invulnerable machine who can never be taken down. Pretty sure Sonnen is going give him a run for his money.
Not at all. I think it'll be a good fight, I just don't see Sonnen, after a layoff like he'll have had, and with everything else going on around him (though god knows that probably won't have TOO much effect on him given his normal mental state), taking this one. It's entirely possible he does, and that he takes Machida down over and over. Just was saying that Machida has pretty good takedown defense and I think will work to keep it standing, which is to his advantage. Not discounting either possibility though.
-
I thought the thing about Silva was that he COULD be taken down though. Not saying he loses when on the ground, but I thought that was one of his weaker areas, was the takedown defense. Maybe I'm wrong. And as far as the striking, Sonnen didn't have to try to solve Silvas striking, as he didn't leave it on the feet enough to make that an issue.
-
That's an interesting match-up for Sonnen. Have to pick Machida for that one, as I don't really see Sonnen solving Machida's striking, and from what I recall, isn't Machida pretty difficult to take down and KEEP down? I might be wrong, but I think Sonnen might go down on this one. At least the trash talk should be amusing.
And really, I like Kenny Florian ok as a fighter, but isn't this just setting him up for people to say he choked again in a big fight if he loses?

I read that he wants the winner of Griffin/Rua.

I was upset...that I missed the PPV and didn't get to see it live.
