  1. Oakland A’s: two straight years with 97 wins, two straight years being trounced in the Wild Card game.
  2. Cardinals owner Bill Bidwill has died at 88
  3. Wonder what Jay Gruden is planning to do with the offense with a game against the best defense in football coming up this week. He has to be trying to get fired. I expect he’ll be doing donuts in the the parking lot with the Redskins’ Lombardi trophies dragging behind his car by Friday.
  4. Tbf, he had the same injury in college and recovered within two weeks. I don’t see the Giants being that aggressive no matter how well he’s feeling. But he might just possess Wolverine-esque healing abilities.
  5. Somehow, Saquon Barkley is out of his walking boot and jogging just 10 days after suffering a high ankle sprain.
  6. It’s almost like using your best reliever for two innings at a time all season is a surefire way to burn him out.
  7. Was talking about the game with a friend and I called Hader blowing it as soon as he came the game. He just cost the Brewers a chance at the division three nights ago.
  8. My heart tells me that Yuke's being gone means they're just releasing a re-skinned 2k19 this year out of necessity but they're going to have no choice but to finally build a brand new game for 2k21. My head tells me that even now they're just going to keep putting out the same game over and over until the end of time because with nobody else allowed to make WWE games there's no incentive for them to do otherwise. Same reason Madden barely changes year to year.
  9. MLB The Show lets you load music into the game via USB, the songs you load get added to the game's save memory. So it's theoretically possible for other games to do it. The problem is The Show is a Sony published game so they probably got special privileges to do that while 2k or other companies don't.
  10. 3 weeks until the game is out and barely any information
  11. Yeah, Sunday Night Football completely lapped Monday Night Football in the NFL pecking order about a dozen ago and it's only gotten worse.
  12. The Phillies offseason was a waste. Spend all that money to fortify the team only to get scared off from adding the final piece (Keuchel) due to the luxury tax. For all the money these owners dole out, they act like a few extra million will break them.
  13. In today's obscure stat news, with three kneeldowns for -3 yards in yesterday's game, Brady is back to exactly 1,000 yards rushing for his career. Next week: Jarrett Stidham handles the kneeldowns.
  14. Yeah the Angels clearly want him back, and the prospect of managing the best player in the world has to be tempting. That said, Padres would give him the closest situation to when he joined the Cubs in terms of having an amazing farm system trickling up to the big leagues. Mets and Phillies could be interested if they move on from their managers but not sure either situation would be better for him. As much as I think Mickey Callaway is a dreadful in-game manager, I'm not sure they fire him after an 86 win campaign unless Joe Girardi's already told them he'd come in.
  15. This is such a bummer. The Giants ignored the LB position for years and years under Jerry Reese. Gettleman takes this guy in the fifth round, he plays his way into a starting role immediately, has two early picks and is relaying the defensive signals, and he's out. They finally got a LB worth a damn and his knee gives out.
  16. The Colts bench should’ve emptied to go after Burfict for a hit that blatant.
  17. Really good defensive showing all-around in that game.
  18. Second time in three weeks the Broncos fall victim to a walkoff field goal at home. Vic Fangio is going to be one and done.
  19. Dom Smith spent two months working his ass off in rehab just to get back for a meaningless final series for the Mets. He doesn’t get used on Friday or Saturday and looks like he won’t end up getting to play at all. Instead the game goes extras, he enters in the 11th inning. With 2 outs and the team down by 2 runs, and he hits a 3-run walkoff home run to end the season.
  20. I honestly wasn’t sure the Bears defense could repeat last year’s performance in a league that seems to be trying to legislate defense out of the game entirely. But they are proving me wrong and I’m glad about it.
  21. My jaw about hit the floor when I saw that Carson Palmer was being enshrined in the Cardinals Ring of Honor. Was only there for five years and the furthest they got was the NFC Title game where they got demolished. But then again he had a better record as Cardinals QB than Warner in the same number of seasons. So it’s really more of an indictment of team history than anything else.
  22. Yeah I sat Chris Godwin today because he was questionable and going against the Rams defense. Of course he’s outscored everyone else on my offense.
  23. After spending nearly $200 million on Chris Sale and Nathan Eovaldi, the Red Sox owner came out and said the team has to get below the luxury tax threshold. This comes at a time when JD Martinez can opt-out after the World Series, Mookie Betts having only a year left before free agency, and a bunch of their young players are due for substantial arbitration raises. Between that and clearing out their front office, Boston might be blowing things up and starting over only a year after winning a championship.
  24. Time for the Bears to sign Romo out of retirement at halftime!
  25. I feel like I can’t get on the bandwagon for any of the Wild Card teams until the glorified play-in games are over. Anybody can lose one game.
