  1. Lucas mentioned in an interview a few days ago that he'd love to continue the franchise now with Shia in the lead role and Harrison playing the role, sort of, that Sean Connery played in Crusade. I can see that working based on how this last film worked.

I don't think that would work very well. I did think that Shia did a pretty decent job in the movie, but I think there would be a lot of backlash if he was the main character, with Ford in just a side role. If anything, I think that a fifth Indy film would have to feature both characters in equal roles.

  2. Well, the Lions addressed the needs they had coming into the draft, I'll give them that much. They also got screwed up with Mayo going to NE (fucking cock suckers) and Stewart going to Carolina, so I wasn't too bummed with the OT pick. Mendenhall would have been the sexy pick, but it's time to build the lines and quit fucking around with the sexy pick year after year.

As for the rest of the draft? I don't even know who these guys are, just that the defensive players are undersized.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kevin Smith ends up being better than Mendenhall. I'm a Lions fan, and from what I've read, he could actually be really good/great.

  3. It's disappointing that they're releasing them a week later. I have this week off for Spring Break, so I would've had plenty of playing time. Next week it's back to school. Besides, I doubt that I'll even touch COD4 for a couple of weeks after GTA IV, which comes out April 29th. :(

  4. If you think that the Lord of the Rings films are better than the books, then you probably aren't a huge fan of the fantasy genre. You really have to appreciate the level of detail that Tolkien puts into his world in order to enjoy the books. If you just like the story and the action, then the movies do a fair job. But the books have so much more...

I like the fantasy genre, but LOTR is just...encyclopedic.

That's part of the book, though. That's what it's all about. It's supposed to be incredibly detailed because Tolkien created an entire world complete with a rich history, languages, and hundreds of characters. It's supposed to be like that, which is why I don't think that you can really say it takes away from the book. Besides, a lot of the visuals of the films wouldn't have been nearly as good without the descriptions in the book. It's easier to see them in the movie because you can just look at them instead of reading a page, but they're only there because Tolkien took the time to write about everything.

  6. I really hope that nostalgia doesn't get in the way of too many reviews. People are going to remember Indy being more than what it is. The movies are kind-of cheesy sometimes, but that's how they are. I hope that people remember that. They're not supposed to be gritty and realistic.

  7. Get Licence to Kill (it has Dalton) and one of the classics, like Goldfinger or The Spy Who Loved Me.

It's cool that you're slowly collecting the movies though, this summer I'd like to splurge and buy all of them at once if I can find a good deal on a box set.

  8. You just have to get used to the grenades. People use them, and for good reason (they're easy to get kills with). Yeah, it sucks when you get killed by someone who randomly threw one across the map, but if that keeps happening then you need to be under cover more often.

  9. The rosters are updated as of 2-29-08 if you download the update.

I got the game today, and it's actually quite fun, even better than the demo. The technical issues are there, but they don't completely ruin the game for me. 2k is working on a patch anyway.

  10. The grass does look pretty bad. In terms of graphics, parts of the game look really good, other parts look bad. That's just how it is.

The game isn't as bad as some of the reviews say, though. I love the pitching system.

  11. I didn't think that this was as funny as Anchorman (or even Talladega) but it was pretty entertaining. I'd say it was about as good as Blades of Glory, meaning that there was some really funny bits sprinkled into an alright movie. I saw a preview for Ferrell's upcoming movie called Step Brothers, and I thought that looks pretty funny. John C. Reilly is in it as well, and those two have great chemistry.

  12. On a somewhat related note, I expect the LOST game to be in the bargain bin after a few months. I'm a big fan of the show, but they haven't advertised well (if at all) for the game and I can't imagine it doing too well.

  13. I'd have to say that my favorite film is Casino Royale. It's just the one that has held up the best after repeated viewings. Other favorites of mine are The Living Daylights, Goldfinger, and Goldeneye.

My favorite Bond actor is probably Timothy Dalton. I would list Daniel Craig, as I loved what he did in Casino Royale, but I feel like I need to see him in more than one movie before I say he's my favorite. I just like the more serious interpretations that Dalton and Craig have, it's closer to the books. Connery is the classic and Moore was good too. I liked Brosnan in the role, but he just couldn't get a good script to work with, apart from Goldeneye.
