anything by will self, can't remember its name but it has a monkey smoking a fag on the front, the story is crazy. about a human who gets smashed one night and wakes up the next day as a monkey but the world is run by monkeys (ie monkeys / humans switch) but he still thinks he's human. funny as fuck! plus anything by george orwell/peter suskind/anthony burgess/hunter s. thompson all of these are abit populist but thats what i like reading so their!

for fictional evil it would have to be perfume by peter suskind, i've not seen the film yet but the book is amazing and as for real evil for want of a better word i have always had abit of a thing for robespierre and the french revolution alot of nasty goings on for sure.

amstell show'd preston for wot he really is a arrogant self important twat! amazed he has a record deal rehashing all the worst of 2-tone with some mockney spaz up front. their last single was to poor for words but i'll give it a go - bag o' shite! buzzcocks has been great with amstell in the chair, but phil and bill dont seem to be delievering like they used to and i think some new captains would be good. my vote would go to either julian barrett/noel feilding and on the other side jonny vegas/that scottish bloke off mock the week.

generation terrorists - manic street preachers not listened to this in years, dug it out and lo and behold sounds fantastic. motorcycle emptiness is one of the greatest enormo anthems ever. why they never made it hugh is still a mystery i'd have thought america would have lapped them up with their first four albums plus all the crazy richie manic stuff and great interviews and anger!
