  1. I'm not sure what your rotation looks like going into next year, but if Taillon can stay healthy, you will be very happy. He was one of the most consistent pitchers I've seen over the last two season. He never pitched so bad that we were out of the game by the fifth inning, but he isn't likely going to have many games past the fifth inning, but how many pitchers do nowadays? Very good signing for you guys. I was kind of bummed that we didn't seem interested in bringing him back. He also seems like just a good dude too.
  2. I'm curious, since I dove hardcore into F1 right before I left EWB for a while, so I haven't been around to chat in-season. What are peoples thoughts on the sprint races? I personally don't like them. I think they take away from the excitement of the Sunday race, and in a case like K-Mag and his pole win, from qualifying as well. They're the same thing we see on Sunday, just 25%(ish?) as long, which I don't think is necessary.
  3. Jon Morosi is reporting that Judge and the Yanks have come to an agreement.
  4. If the Yankees are outbid for their homegrown MVP by the Blue Jays, Trump is the next Pope. And my post was tongue-in-cheek, because Toronto very likely reached out to Heaney and Bellinger, but so did Baltimore, and the Dodgers, and every other team with some money to spend. But you said Heaney and Bellinger were "supposed to be locks" to Toronto, which is why I suggested a change, because I never heard Toronto mentioned as a serious contender for either. Though, to be fair, I hadn't heard any team for Bellinger. A guy at work and I were just talking about that this afternoon; about how there'd been almost no mention of him since he was released.
  5. Between Heaney to Texas, Bellinger to the Cubs, and the bolded part above, it may be time you follow new reporters.
  6. Jon Heyman is notoriously wrong about everything, outside of his "I hear the (insert team here) is interested in (insert free agent)" bullcrap alerts he sends out, so while I'm not saying Judge won't be a Giant, I'll wait until literally anyone else reports it being true.
  7. Picking Philly over any city (outside of Detroit?) is pretty moronic. Philly over San Diego and an extra $42 million makes me believe Bryce Harper was holding Turner's family hostage. What a mook.
  8. Least impressive Heisman finalists group of perhaps my life was announced tonight. Stetson Bennett (Georgia), Caleb Williams (USC), Max Duggan (TCU), and CJ Stroud (Ohio State). All quarterbacks. Because the Heisman has become ESPN's jerk-off-into-a-cup trophy.
  9. With Cashman re-signed, if Judge is not a Yankee next year, the Bronx will burn.
  10. Lineker is now a fan of green teams.
  11. USC went from 4-8 to 10-2 after bringing in 20 transfers. If you're a school willing to rely solely on the portal, there won't ever be a need for a rebuild.
  12. Georgia/Ohio State and Michigan/TCU are the playoff match-ups. Glad reason prevailed and 2-loss Alabama didn't weasel their way in. I'd be very surprised if we don't get Georgia/Michigan in the title game.
  13. OSU fans having the meltdowns online of "Well Michigan only threw those long touchdown because we had nine guys in the box trying to stop the run!" is the saddest, most beautiful crybaby crap I've seen online lately. Their whole fanbase seem to be jumping through illogical hoops like that and I'm all for it. I'm a Notre Dame guy, and despise Michigan, but I hope they beat the Buckeyes for the next several years if this is the kind of reaction they have every time.
  14. See? Michigan/Georgia. No other teams necessary.
  15. It's a heat-of-the-moment devastation for me. It's never fun to lose when you just lost. That said, I went in thinking 2-0 defeat. I came into the tourny thinking England and Wales would move out of the group and we'd already be home. So it hurts now, but yeah, we are a country that still isn't prioritizing our best athletes to the sport but I think it's clear it is getting closer. And I think we are definitely on the right track.
  16. These scenarios are why I hate playoffs in college football. Between Georgia, Michigan, and TCU, by the end of today, we will know who the two best teams are. Put them together in the championship and stop letting teams like Alabama and Ohio State, who didn't even make their conference championship, back in on the heels of those who did. I hate that they're making the sport I love into NFL-Lite.
  17. Orioles are too busy spending that Franchy Cordero money!
  18. If we ever figure out how to finish, we could be fairly competitive. And damn.
  19. Caleb Williams, you weren't Heisman posing tonight, ya limping prick. Watching Utah stick his head up his ass play after play was so cathartic.
  20. Ah, deGrom taking the Corey Seager route of not ever wanting to play post-season baseball again, eh? At least that $37 million a year will go a long way with no income tax. Texas has no income tax, right? If not, than whoa, bad move, Jake!
  21. This World Cup has given off South Park Little League World Series vibes.
  22. My team's friggin General Manager is a damn WELL ACTUALLY guy. I broke up with a girl for trying to give me one of those.
  23. No, rich man wouldn't do that.
  24. I was literally just talking about this with a Phils fan at work. I told him that somehow that contract will work out in Tampa (BAY)'s favor and they'll make him look like a star. They wouldn't break their cute little piggy bank open for him unless they see something untapped.
