  1. I'm fine with the Lakers being great again. They are one of those teams that are just fun to root against for me. The Jazz may have never been the Lakers number one rival but we've had some entertaining match ups over the years. And if the Jazz are to make a deep playoff run this year, I want the Lakers to be one of the teams we're going up against. But, I just don't see it this year for the Lakers. Nothing about them strikes fear into me.
  2. Lakers still have no depth. Lebron won't play a full season, Davis probably won't either and they don't have much help anywhere else. Boogie isnt the same player and Kuzma can't carry the whole load.
  3. Same here, @The Chiksrara Special, same here. So, has does everybody think the West stacks up now? Clippers, Lakers, Jazz, Mavs, Nuggets, Rockets. Warriors, Spurs, Blazers, Pelicans. Pretty much every team has a shot at the playoffs, outside of the Wolves, Thunder, and Suns. The Kings will probably get squeezed out. I have a feeling that somebody is going to miss the playoffs in the West, despite having a much bette record than the eighth seed in the East.
  4. It's too early to process this news. Kawhi and George teaming up? Why?
  5. Its gonna be interesting to see how Luka does in his second season. Can he avoid the sophomore slump? Did he improve this summer? If Kristaps can come back close to 100% and gel well with Luka, they can make some noise in the west.
  6. Take a look at the Utah Jazz. Young superstar in Donovon Mitchell, best defensive player in Rudy Gobert, one of the best coaches at developing young players. Made quite a few changes this off season already, is being called a dark Horse for the championship by many members of the media.
  7. Jazz signed Jeff Green to a one year vet minimum deal. Excellent signing. Can we start the season yet? And now the Jazz have signed Emmanuel Muiday. I know none of the players we have signed are all stars, but this off season is amazing and one of the best we've ever had.
  8. Why would you feel sorry for some one with as bad as an attitude as he has?
  9. If the Warriors do follow through and retire Durants number, they better be planning statues for Curry and Thompson.
  10. So Zeke and Hunt are both going to be suspended for the season, aren't they?
  11. They wouldn't be able to sign KAT. Already got three max contracts in Seth, Russell, and Klay. Unless he signed for the vet min, he's not going to Golden State.
  12. Team loyalty, I agree on, but I do feel like the players owe a certain amount of loyalty to the city and communities they play in. We're the ones cheering them on, buying their gear, paying our hard earned money, just to watch them play basketball. It hurts when a player leaves with no prior warning. Golden State did Iggy dirty, and honestly, I don't know if it was a good move for them. I don't see Russell fitting in with Curry and Thompson. They're going to need some front court help to make it work, especially this year.
  13. Jazz have traded Derrick Favors to the Pelicans for a couple of draft picks we will never see. The Nets have traded D'Angelo Russell to the Warriors.
  14. Jazz have signed Ed Davis for two years, ten million dollars. As far as I'm concerned, this is the best off season the Jazz could have hoped for.
  15. Nevermind, Knicks just gave Taj Gibson $20 million over 2 years. They're a bunch of idiots and I'm sorry for any of their fans. Come out west and root for the Jazz with me!
  16. Randle is a good start. They reportedly had interest in Favors, which would be a good pick up along with Randle. Dennis Smith, RJ Barrett, Randle, and Favors is the start of a pretty good core. Another good draft, sign some role players to fill out the bench, and you'll at least be back in the playoffs.
  17. Because the Knicks suck at drafting and seem to think that signing a marquee free agent is the only way to go.
  18. Knicks need to stop trying to get a marquee free agent to sign there and just build a good team. Get back into the playoffs and then try for a marquee player. Derrick Favors would be a great pick up for them this summer.
  19. Rubio to the Suns is a shocker. They need a point guard, so hopefully it will be good. I'm happy the Jazz signed Bojan, he will fit in good but I'm sad that means the end of Favors in Utah. Hopefully he can go somewhere that will start him at center and he can finally be the player he's meant to be.
  20. I'm just jealous cause nobody wants to play in Utah. 😢
  21. Maybe. Durant is out for next year, he most likely won't be at 100% the year after that, so you're looking at nearly three years before this pays off. Durant and Jordan will both be 33, on the back end of their careers, Irving will probably wear out his welcome and want out if what happened in Cleveland and Boston is any indication. It's a good move in theory, but we will see how it pays off in three years.
  22. Correct. It doesn't make much sense for Brooklyn. It would enable Boston to not only get Kemba, but still have enough room to re-sign Al Horford. So, Brooklyn would be getting a player that they are probably going to sign anyway, and they help out a division rival. EDIT: Not sure that trade is going to happen, however. ESPN is reporting that Brooklyn is going to sign Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and DeAndre Jordan tonight.
  23. Pretty much. In order to sign Kemba, they need to clear the cap space, which would include giving up the bird rights to Kyrie, plus having to waive Rozier. But, doing a sign and trade with Charlotte and Brooklyn, everybody gets what they want and it's under the cap.
  24. For me, it's the fact that he would go there after winning a championship with Toronto. Like, I get wanting to play in LA and all that but...the Clippers? You're going to leave a championship caliper team to join a team that is no where close to a championship?
