Bring back Hasslehoff as Nick Fury!
-
I really don't like the way they're dragging this announcement on. Surely it's bad for business, as people buy tickets for headliners, right?
Glastonbury sold out without a single act being announced.
That's 40 years of history though, and to be fair, it is 'THE' UK festival.
And I'm kinda put off by FNM, as much as I love em, there's gonna be no Jim Martin!
It's just not the same without the two of them together
-
Plus they played last year and haven't done anything of note since then.
I've never seen anybody as interested in a festival that they aren't attending as BuddyAwesome.
Or me I have a strong feeling Blink might be the headliners now after what they've mentioned about playing a 'big event' in the summer. Faith No More will most likely play Sonisphere as it tours Europe, which is kinda what they wanted to make it worth their while.

Children of Bodom
Nowhere near big enough to headline Download lol.
-
Sax Man is a fave of mine.
-
I have a strong feeling they've just venom'ed him and butchered the originally story for mainstream fans.
The main film audience have less of a clue who Deadpool is than Venom, so they can reinvent him as some healing bitch.
-
Ah the ol' Academy Unsigned thing, is it still pay to play?
-
It don't think it's a possible spoiler....
Spoiler: Click here to viewHe's in the official trailer for a second or two doing a spinning kick on Wolverine.I hope he disfigures more at the end and becomes the proper deadpool, otherwise this is just crap.

I got their album Incredibad yesterday, pure gold.
Believe me when I say... I fucked a mermaid!!
-
I just remembered but can't find a decent photo.
Sarah Jessica Parker in Flight of the Navigator.
It was released in '86, so I was 2, but I saw it when I was about 9 or 10, and fell for her hard. Ah the rebellious teen girls.

This reunion thing is funny, Ultraspank and Dry Cell have now reformed. I'm just waiting for Crazy Town and Union Undeground to come back...
-
Love Hustle great show. Hopefully the film will live upto the series by keeping it British and not going all Ocean's 11-esque.
-
The Smiths.
I think Queen have more chance of reforming than the Smiths at the moment, Morrissey obviously hates reunions.
-
Queen
They did, but with the lead singer from Bad Company
That isn't Queen.
That'd be like saying The Beatles reformed without John Lennon or Paul McCartney.
Queen isn't Queen without Freddie Mercury.

Queen
Jawbreaker
Scream
At The Drive In
Christie Front Drive
Braid
Cap'n Jazz
Semisonic
Death
I Hate Myself
The Promise Ring
Mineral
Mainly a lot of the 90's post hardcore movement.

If Faith No More play, I may get a day ticket just for them.
-
I take it you didn't see GnR when they headlined the other year then? Dreadful.
They played that festival?
I never saw em, just saw some tribute band far too high up the bill
But to be fair, they were horrendous, and Sebastian Bach owned Rose on stage.
Blink would be good for Download, but I can't see it happening, depends when the new album is out, they might be able to pull it off though.
-
I'm liking the line-up so far. Who do we reckon the third headliner will be?
Manson, Heaven n Hell. Both names rumoured.
I'd put my money on Faith No More to be honest. It'll be Nu meta - Metal day / Cheesy 80's hair rock day / Alternative Metal maybe with punk day.
-
Melissa Joan Hart
She got fitter as she got older, that pic before mine proves it, but yeh, I fancied her from Clarissa onwards.
Amy Jo Johnson
The legendary Pink Power Ranger.
Alex Mack (aka Larisa Oleynik)
Claire Danes (in Romeo + Juliet)
First time I think I fell in love properly was with Claire Danes in R+J.
Melanie & Martina Grant (from Pat Sharp's Fun House)
They were twins, here is one of them, so it's technically both of them.
Michaela Strachan
Fit nature animal girl from BBC.

I personally would prefer Ben Affleck vs A Buzzsaw.
How about Ben Affleck Vs Bonesaw?

The source for Def Leppard was whitesnake oddly enough
Edit: Source...
Sheffield’s finest will be grabbing a piece of the Donington action! In a statement from Whitesnake, who self-confirmed their appearance at this year’s Download festival, have released the following statement about Def Leppard’s performance:
“WHITESNAKE are very happy to announce they have committed to playing a one-off UK gig in 2009 at the DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL on JUNE 14th with DEF LEPPARD…The show will coincide with action-packed Anniversary releases of the multi-platinum albums, SLIP OF THE TONGUE, marking its 20th Anniversary, & the SLIDE IT IN album, which celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year.”

I have a strong feeling Heaven & Hell will most likely be on that day as well, as they announced themselves for Wacken today, so it's definately the fest tour.
-
Yeh, it cost me just over £100 for Hellfest, Wacken last year was £80 for a weekend ticket and the flight was about £80 return from Hamburg.
Been looking at flights for Hellfest and it's looking to be a pain, I can Ryanair it from Liverpool to Nantes for £10, but the next flight back aint till tuesday, and the festival finishes monday, more importantly I'm back in work on the Tuesday. :/
-
£160 for Download as well, prices keep going up, line-ups don't get any better :/
Yup, to be fair, I've lost hope over UK festivals in the last few years, it's far more fun going abroad for me. I thoroughly enjoyed Wacken last year, and I'm stoked for Hellfest this year. It's overall better value for money too.

I'd take Slipknot, Prodigy and Crue as headliners (and I only really like Motley Crue out of those three) any day. I'm all for seeing Limp Bizkit, but not as a headliner. One, they're unreliable, and two, Slipknot AND Limp Bizkit is fucking nu-metal overkill. There needs to be some fucking variety.
In theory, they could put Limp Bizkit and Korn under Slipknot, and have a nu-metal day. But considering how much Slipknot and Limp Bizkit hate each other, I doubt it. Even though I would love to see all three bands (in Korn's case, see them again) - I find it really odd that they're bringing out the nu-metal bands eight years after the fad peaked.
All we need now is for Spineshank to be rumoured... Oh wait.
I could see it now...
Slipknot
Limp Bizkit
Korn
Disturbed
Papa Roach
Saliva
Kittie/Otep
Spineshank
Sevendust
All in one day, mind you, thats from bands still around.

I may as well throw my hat in the ring.
Machiavellian
Machiavellian is our name, extreme metal our game. Primarily death metal but our style ebbs and flows from sludge to thrash, to technical death, to doom/stoner. We've been going just over 3 years played with a few bands, got signed to Canadian label Year of the Sun Records last February, and had a bit of a Chinese Democracy with our debut EP with them, it's been delayed and finally gets released on April 21st via them in Canada. The CD is also being released in the UK by Glasstone Records and our US distributor is meant to be The End Records, but I believe Year of the Sun are moving to Universal in the next month or so.
Erm, we did a video for a song of the EP which can be found here:
Gigging wise, we haven't gigged since Halloween as we're finishing off our debut album which will be recorded in late August we hope. But we're back gigging next weekend, got a lovely support slot on a day festival with Akercocke in Sunderland in April and we've got our first UK tour in May with The Arusha Accord & Random Conflict which should be fun. Also just sorting a last 2009 tour with Trigger The Bloodshed which should be tip top
