  1. I'm fine with skipping ahead with III, as II is somewhat tedious with the leveling system (especially magic... I do not want to go and grind goblins just because my bolt and ice spells are weak.) As for II, I just arrived at Deist, I think the name is and I'm about to take the egg to the spring inside the nearby cave. In somewhat amusing news, thanks to a Masochistic Grind, my spellcaster has more HP than anyone else...
  2. Spoiler: Click here to viewThe darn thing took off before I could burn it down! Where's the fun in that... Oh crap, they got really mean after they built that thing. Mindu left and Maria's fire spell gained another level. Sitting outside the Ice cave on the step to getting the Sunfire at the moment. That's about it. And I do hate the leveling system...
  3. Yeah, Maria's my resident Mage as well. She's up to Fire 2, but has low HP due to the monsters deciding to try and take out either Guy or Firion instead. I'm right at the entrance to the slave camp, but I'm gonna have to fall back to town, because I am out of MP... Hell, probably should journey all the way back to the starting point to buy a spell other than Fire. Edit: Stormed the slave mines and enacted a terrific rescue last night. Beat up the commanding sergeant and then made off with the mithral. Sadly, I only had enough money to buy Firion a sword when all was said and done. Now, where the hell do I go to burn down that new airship prototype...
  4. Spoiler: Click here to viewI love the Hall of Giants. I grinded there in preperation of both the vampire and Lich. The only bad thing about it is that I have to go all the way back to Elfheim to buy cottages to restore HP and spells. Just finished beating Lich this morning, with my level 15 (I think) party. He cast Ice2 midway through the fight and White Mage's healing spells were all tapped out thanks to my trip down there, I'm just glad he didn't cast it again. I miss save points... So, a sail to Crescent Lake is in the cards for my party next time I boot up the PS1.
  5. Spoiler: Click here to viewTook my first early ventures into the Earth Cave this morning after helping the dwarves build a canal to Melmond. Gotten the Titan and Vampire/Earth rotting adventure hooks, and know from spoilers about the Earth Orb in it. Of course, getting slaughtered on the third or fourth floor. I'm at level 11, and the only one who hasn't died is Black Mage at this point, Fighter having been claimed by a Reaper spell from Atmos in the ruined keep.
  6. I pretty much have to gil grind, as I'm trying to buy all these lvl 3 and 4 spells, as well as weapons and healing items. And I agree with you, stokerino, the prices in Elfheim are outrageous. Then again, most RPGs suffer the same problem when it comes to pricing. Especially with the inns. Here's that map for you all, if you don't already have one.
  7. Spoiler: Click here to viewMade it to the Elven village today, and I'm leveling up right next to it. All characters at level 8 so far, but we've had some deaths. Thief and White Mage were downed in seperate battles nearing the March cave, causing me to retreat back. Right now, Thief is about 200 XP behind Fighter and Black Mage (who have yet to fall) and White Mage is about 250. I've bought Fire2 and Bolt2 in the Elf village, and they are really effective at this point. I've also downloaded a world map, so I don't get lost. Too bad I need to buy a USB hub so I can hook up my printer. By the way, what's everybody playing this on? I'm using a PS2 and FF Origins.
  8. Well, better late than never, I suppose. I seriously doubt I'll be able to finish by the end of the month, though. Let's see how far I get, though. Spoiler: Click here to view Fghtr: lvl. 3 Thief: lvl. 3 W Mage: lvl 3 Blk Mg: lvl 3 Just beat Garland for the first time, and I gotta say the difference between the forests and plains surrounding his fort and the inside of it is kind of jarring. So is the land mass just north of the bridge. I got my butt kicked by three Crazy Horses and immediately limped my back home to the inn. Edit: So used to the [sblock] command from other forums...
  9. About what time on Tuesday evenings? And what's the creation rules? Edit: Bah, beaten to it...
  10. Wow, I'm really far behind on this. I was planning on getting Origins soon, but it can't be for a little while, since the only store near me with a new copy is where I go to class. Oh well, see you all for II. In all my previous playthrough, I quit soon after I got to the brooms. I just got completely lost after that. The massive amount of leveling I had to do at the beginning is kind of discouraging at first.
  11. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Entering Lake Hylia, from the main entrance, for the first time. Imperial Glory: Ordering a bayonet charge for the first time, and watching my soldiers charge across the field of battle.
  12. You talking about the Advance series, or the War of the Lions remake of the original. BTW, how are those games. I've only played the original PS1 version of the game.
  13. I definately agree that XI should have just been called FF: Online. Haven't played XII yet, though. Still trying to beat IV on my PS1. Actually, that's the DS FF you should get, Private ZJ
  14. The second-best console of all time is becoming the best console of all time when you need it? That sounds awesome to me. It is, isn't it? Still stuck on FFIV. *sighs
  15. I'll have to start with Chrono Trigger after I finish FFIV. Damn, my PS2's basically an SNES now...
  16. My FF gaming is decidedly old school at the moment, as I just bought new copies of Anthology and Chronicles. Mainly playing VI at the moment. Haven't even touched Chrono Trigger yet, though.
  17. The Mizzou-Kansas game was horrendous for me, just a complete rollercoaster of emotion. My heart sank right to the floor when Meir caught that final touchdown pass, only for it to even lower on that final imcompletion of Missouri's. Still, a damn good game.
  18. I'm thankful that my collection of sports game started rather late, and that all the old ones can be found for a buck each, save for the more recent ones. The PS1 NCAAs were probably the most expensive, since they were about four bucks. I only need the current one and the two Bill Walsh College football games to complete that collection. Madden's a little more tricky, however. And, yes, I do play them. I'd be playing a Dynasty in all of them if I only had the memory card space.
  19. Prices don't really drop--at least here--until the season's over, so I'm not really surprised at that price. Wait... you trade in the old versions? *looks at NCAA Football and Madden NFL collections with a smile.*
  20. Wow, I think I prepared a little too much for my second battle with Seymour in FFX... I had all the characters well leveled up and had their overdrives prepared. The majority of Yuna's summons had their overdrives ready as well. It only took about five rounds and I couldn't get my usual cycle of every character to give them all AP... I'm going to try again.
  21. *sighs* I want to play FFIX again. Same with VII, VIII and Tactics. I need to a new PS2... One that doesn't hate PS1 games.
  22. ... sweet! Old post, but... Any bets on how long it takes for the code to be leaked to the general public? I say within five hours.
  23. Damn, a topic purge took the one I'd already filled out on another forum... This is going to be tough. And include a lot of Pearl Jam and Meat Puppets. For the sake of fairness, I'm ignoring compilations, soundtracks, live albums, and box sets. 1984: Meat Puppets II 1985: Up on the Sun- Meat Puppets (told you...) 1986: Master of Puppets-Metallica 1987: The Joshua Tree-U2 1988: Nothing's Shocking-Jane's Addiction 1989: Bleach-Nirvana 1990: Ritual de lo Habitual-Jane's Addiction 1991: Ten-Pearl Jam 1992: Dirt-Alice in Chains 1993: Vs-Pearl Jam 1994: Too High to Die-Meat Puppets 1995: Mellon Collie and the Infinate Sadness-Smashing Pumpkins 1996: No Code-Pearl Jam 1997: The Colour and the Shape-Foo Fighters 1998: Yield-Pearl Jam 1999: Californication-Red Hot Chili Peppers 2000: Binaural-Pearl Jam 2001: Lateralus-Tool 2002: Riot Act-Pearl Jam 2003: Lost Dogs-Pearl Jam (I'm breaking my own rule regarding compilations because I could find nothing else I remotely liked in 2003.) 2004: How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb-U2 (Only choice) 2005: Out of Exile-Audioslave 2006: Pearl Jam 2007: Rise to Your Knees-Meat Puppets 2008: Don't have one yet.
  24. I am very disappointed with the seemingly death of BC, as well. It may very well be a dealbreaker for when I have the money to upgrade consoles.
