This linesman is getting a few wrong in my opinion, even though they are all VERY tight calls. I'd like to see Ukraine pull one back before the break, or early into the second half, otherwise the match runs the risk of losing its energy, which is a shame, because it's been a good one so far.

It's nice to see this game have a good pace to it in the opening few minutes, yesterday was toss. I love being off college during the world cup, it means I get to get up at 11, have a bath, eat, sit and watch the first match, go to bed for a bit, get up and watch the second match, my mates come round in the evening, and then we watch the final match together. Yeah, don't get me wrong, if I was Slash or Duff or Gilby I'd be annoyed with Axl playing songs that I'd contributed to, but the bottom line is, Slash and Duff left the band. It was their decision. End of. Yes Axl is a cunt, yes he must be difficult to work with, but he still left the band. I know Gilby was fired, but I'm not even sure if he contributed to anything while he was in the band. And Izzy can't really complain, he was kicked out in an attempt to get him to clean himself up, seeing as he was constantly smacked off his tits. Not only that, but he plays some songs with them live now anyway. I'm not disagreeing with anyones points, cus most of them are solid facts, its just that it doesnt affect anything in my eyes.

Dave Mustaine wrote a lot of Kill Em All. And yeah, I know some of them only have a few members missing, or it might be the line up from the bands glory days or whatever, but at the end of the day, Guns N Roses are the only band that get shit for it. And it annoys me. Not that it matters, as long as the vocalists the same, you can't hear a difference in my opinion.

I am very surprised that I find myself agreeing with skummy for a change. He more or less hit the nail on the head. Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax, Motorhead, Cradle of Filth, Machine Head etc. all have only one or two original members left, hell after today, Sepultera don't have any of their founding members left. Besides, anyone with a little bit of talent can play the Guns songs exactly like Slash, Duff etc. No one can replicate Axl's voice. Besides, I saw Velvet Revolver at last years fest, and they were naff. In my opinion, I saw Guns N Roses two nights ago, and I fucking loved it all, from Axl's tantrum to the pit for Paradise city at the end. Admittedly I was slightly worried when Axl went off for more than a few minutes, but other than that, it was fucking immense.

Lars didnt apologise for St. Anger. He apologised for 2 years ago where he missed their set at Download and Dave Lombardo and Joey Jordison filled in for him. When Metallica talk about St.Anger they say they needed to make the album to get the anger out, but don't feature songs in current set lists because they dont fit in. And I do realise that thats them trying to disguise the fact that they know it's shit, but either way, they havent publicly criticised the album.

Yeah I was slightly exaggerating, mainly due to having just heard it and being majorly dissapointed. I've had a few more listens since then, and the chorus has grown on me, but other than that, I still think its naff, which is a shame, because I fucking love Slayer. And the new song sounded immense live, although I do think perhaps it has St.Anger syndrome in being too long :/ At least Kirk has his solo's back.

Alice in Chains were ridiculously good. Anyone else dissapointed with Stone Sour? I felt they played too many new songs making it difficult to get into. And have Lacuna Coil always had a male vocalist? Admittedly I havent heard much by them, and only watched the set for Enjoy The Silence, but I could of sworn they never used to have a male vocalist. Top three bands of the weekend: 1. Metallica - Just fucking epic, so tight and entertaining. 2. Guns - Yes Axl was being Axl, but at the end of the day they played for 2 and a half hours, and due to Axl's temperment, we got the full Guns N Roses experience. 3. Devil Driver - That circle pit around all of the supporting poles, just fucking wow.

Im going down tonight. Only to pick my ticket up though, as Ticketmaster are cunts. I have an exam on the thursday, and as a result can't get down til the Friday, as long as im there in time for Soil though its all good.
