It's like ever since the Yankees got Rizzo, the Red Sox have just fallen apart. Aside from beating up on the Orioles, they can't win. The general feeling here is that the team refused to invest in this years roster, to the point that winning was inconvenient to the front office. Fans are angry and tuning out, and the on field product is suffering as well.

Inter Miami already has a full allotment of designated players. There's a handful of teams who have room. Red Bulls being one of them, I think. The question is, would any MLS team be willing to fork over that kind of money? I imagine much of the league couldn't. Charlotte, while I can't see them doing this, it'd be one hell of a statement to start your team by bringing a player of Messi's caliber on.

So the Red Sox needed a 1B and pitching. They got Schwarber - either to play 1B or move Marwin Gonzalez there. Then a couple of relievers, one who coughs up homers and the other I never heard of but they moved Chavis to get him. I really would have liked a starter to get Garrett Richards the fuck out of Boston. But that never happened. And all those Rizzo to Boston rumors sting worse knowing he went to the Yanks.
