  1. Sorry for the double post, but it's worth it to note how achingly cool Herve Renard is. The way he just nonchalantly nodded his head as his team progressed to the final was amazing. Also, the Zambian haka is quite funky.
  2. I came in here to post the exact same thing. And now Ghana are down to ten men! A Zambia-Mali final would be so great. Also, it's worth noting that there have been no goalless draws so far in the entire tournament, and we've got just three games left.
  3. The fact that Piers Morgan equates success with how many countries you appear on TV in is so shallow I wonder if he's actually a human being.
  4. How did Martinez fail at Swansea? He won promotion from League 1 to the Championship in his first full season, then was on the brink of doing it again in his first season at the second tier! And this was with no managerial experience!
  5. Gutted for Equatorial Guinea, but they did brilliantly to even make it to the Quarter Finals. I'm pleased for the Ivory Coast though, their squad has been so rich with talent for so long, it's ridiculous that they've had nothing to show for it, so it would be nice to see them win an African Cup of Nations at least. But then, Zambia have shown both terrific football and celebrations, plus it would be a huge upset if they won. And I'd like Gabon to win as they're the hosts, Mali to do so because it would be so random, Ghana because of that lovely video of them all singing together that was posted... so, essentially, as long as Tunisia don't win, I'm happy.
  6. This is such a ridiculous decision, so it's telling that I don't think many people will be surprised by it. Presumably they're going to have to pay a fair bit of compensation for sacking nearly the entire coaching staff? Yet they can't afford to buy any players? I'll be the first to admit that my understanding of the financial side of football is limited, but it doesn't add up to me. This might be a blessing in disguise for Grayson though, he's a Premier League quality manager and I could see a team like Wolves taking a punt on him, should they find themselves without a manager.
  7. Five out of six. Plus you haven't named all the teams that Hodgson has managed, although that's not particularly important EDIT- But Hugo has it! Well done Hugo!
  8. Hurrah! There are currently six managers in the Premier League who have, at some time in their careers, managed a national team. Name them, and, if you feel like showing off, which national team (s) they have managed.
  9. Northampton! I'm almost certain it's Northampton.
  10. Ivory Coast 2-0 Angola, Sudan 2-1 Burkina Faso, so Sudan sneak into the Quarter Finals! Wonderful!
  11. Superb game, this has been a brilliant tournament so far. Really nice to see both the hosts through to the knockout stages as well, especially with Gabon securing it it with a 96th minute free-kick and Equatorial Guinea upsetting all the odds. Would it be too much to hope Sudan are able to sneak through as well?
  12. Yes, right now in fact for those who didn't know!
  13. Equatorial Guinea are beating Senegal 1-0 with half an hour to go! This would make Senegal the first team eliminated from the competition, and send Equatorial Guinea, the lowest ranked side in the tournament, the first to qualify for the quarter finals. Excellent news for neutrals, and Newcastle fans!
  14. Zambia are my favourite side in the competition. They've shown admirable commitment to the great African tradition of the co-ordinated dance celebration.
  15. Both wrong, Sam Allardyce is just so dreamy.
  16. None of the favourites are impressing very much so far. I really don't have a clue who is going to win the tournament.
  17. I'm pleased to see Coleman moving up in the world though, he's done such a tremendous job at Accrington Stanley. I hope he shines at Rochdale.
  18. Sudan aren't looking shabby at all here. They'll need a bit of luck to take anything from the game, but I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that they could do so.
  19. Two really good games to kick off the tournament. I barely even regret missing some of Match of the Day to watch Senegal-Zambia!
  20. To be fair, Warnock is also a total knob, so they can trade insults with each other till the sun goes down for all I care.
  21. Terracing is banned in the Championship, but they give clubs like Peterborough something like three seasons to dismantle their terracing and replace it with seats. Obviously it's unrealistic to do it all over one summer, and it would also be annoying for a club to get rid of all their terracing only to get relegated back to League 1, which is why the three-seasons rule comes in. I prefer sitting to standing anyhow, but obviously there is an appetite for the return of terracing, and the Bundesliga has proved it can potentially worked. Hopefully they'll give it a shot.
  22. Wrexham are beating Brighton 1-0, player-manager Andy Morrell with a terrific finish. The crowd and the S4C commentators are absolutely buzzing. A really good game so far.
  23. Gardner is an Aston Villa player who has just spent a month on loan at Championship whipping boys Coventry. I'm sure the FA were crushed to hear he isn't available.
  24. Bradford are the cheapest in the Football League I think, but Accrington Stanley are the best value for money when you take into account the amount of goals scored per match. So go support them!
