  1. Can I ask the few people who have said that 'The Last Jedi' is the best star wars movie why you believe that? I'm not looking to argue with anyone I'm genuinely asking because i'm curious. I thought it was alright, but not better (imo) than Empire or even Rogue One (which are my top 2).
  2. Looks like a normal weekend game for my Cov side...only we are City... Stupid players
  3. Anyone had an issue in this game of conceding goals almost immediately after you've scored? Did a little digging through my last two seasons and in about 70% of games where I've scored first, I've held that lead for give or take only 5 minutes. Whether I go on to win or lose the game, almost frighteningly I end up conceding shortly after scoring a goal. Again almost irrespective of opponents, top or bottom of the league. I had a game that was lost to city, where I took the lead on the 35th minute and proceeded to concede 3 goals (in this specific timing) the 37th, 40th and 45th mins.
  4. The biggest thing I struggle with EVERY damn season. Can't help but keep that 2 1/2* - 3* player who has been with me since the start and was a beast in the lower leagues...are they cut out for the premiere league? Absolutely not, but he's the team captain, he likes me and I don't pay him a fortune...why should I let him go For keepers you could have a look at Nathan Trott - wonderkid in the previous game and if your 3 years in he should only be in his early 20's. (if not just 21) In my 19 game I was/am in the process of transitioning him in as 1st choice keeper at Cov (replacing 34 year old Jason Steele - who has been fairly solid btw) and he spent the 2nd half of a season (2 seasons ago) on loan at Liverpool (no idea why they wanted him on loan, he sat in their under 23's and apparently refused to concede goals) so it 'hints' he might be worth a punt.
  5. awww man, I've just like settled into my 6th Season as Cov boss in FM19. Feels like a real effort to go buy this and start all over again...I'll never have a normal sleep schedule again... Who you playing as? Whats your budget/aspirations?
  6. my favourite is the fact they highlight its not a 4-year contract. That's a nice level of detail
  7. That mysterious Jailer fella. The big chained (clearly) bad guy she stands in-front of is the 'ruler' of The Maw (the max level zone) and it appears to be the reason she has more powerful. I thought it was GREAT that the talk basically started with...'Maybe...just MAYBE...she did everything she did on purpose' Seems to be that the 'story' quest line will see you move through each of the four zones working with each of the covenants before you head off to the Maw. In a particular order as well, unlike the last few expansions you wont get to choose which zone you start in, much more narrative this time round. You also only get to choose a covenant at Max level. Unless of course you've already completed the main questchain/story arc at which points your alts can just pick a covenant from the beginning and quest wherever they want. And final thought.....DRUST confirmed for this expansion....maybe we will FINALLY get that raid encounter with Gorak Tul that CLEARLY should have been in this game.
  8. So my first premiere league campaign ended with Coventry and i got to say...the tradition carries on where the players are world beaters for brief but fleeting moments and then fairly trash the rest of the time. We finished 11th in the table with the possibility of finishing 10th in the last game if we beat 8th placed Everton. We lost...shocker... but all in all a good end to the 1st year in the Prem. 'Almost' went to Liverpool when current manage Cuca was experiencing a bump in the road and i declared my interest in the job, unfortunately they won the champions league so he stayed and after briefly being a 'leading' candidate for the Man City job (no idea why) I signed a new 2 year deal with Cov. We have a war kitty of £55m to head into the new season and i'm REALLY at a loss as to where I need to make real improvements. We struggled for goals last season (Ryan Brewster was top scorer with 7...) so that seems like the most obvious but I can't find a player that really sparks my interest that would WANT to come to Cov. I've picked up three players so far in the form of: Kido - Japanese teenage sensation (5 million) Jamal Lewis - Northern Irish left wing extraordinaire (8.5m they played hard ball) Veteran superstar Marco Reus (he was available on a free and I need to have 'good' cover for my starters I've also got three players on trial, a recently released 22 year old from Villa who seems a solid forward, randomn midfielder to help fill a gap and a 34 year old Aubameyang because..maybe goals. The 22 year old striker will most likely come onto the books but the other two i currently don't see working out. I have an 'ok' front line they just seemed to not be able to hit the net. My main issue heading into the season is that I have 35 players who I could consider for the first team, that too many on the books and i need to shift at least 8-10 of them. Its proving a struggle because although the players are 'ok' they are only attracting attention of lower league teams who cant afford the 10m rated midfielder i'm trying to get rid of. I'm BORED of being offered loans. hell, I moved James Collins on for £0 when he's worth £500k just to start clearing space. Its been an interesting 5 years with Coventry and i'm LOVING every second of it.
  9. Eh, they called their guild something that i'd think the majority of people who would have reported them probably thought it was a bunch of immature idiots being edgy. That would have been my first inclination. Glad they got reinstated though, shows Blizzard can actually talk and communicate to their players when they want to.
  10. I'm just continuing to grind rep... Got honoured wit the stupid tortollans and the realised I still needed to get honoured with Rustbolt Resistances AND Ankoran. Atleast...both are in end game zones and have a 'lot' of daily quests available. I dont know why i'm working so hard for this flying... That being said...given the vulperan i'm tempted to jump ship and actually level my one Horde character just to unlock them.
  11. there 'kinda' is. The alternate visions of Orgrimmar and Stormwind are designed to be replayed over and over becasue you need to grind obtain the upgrades to be able to clear them.
  12. my lack of the rep, is purely down to having an 8 month break. I wasn't doing world quests regularly so the Champions Of Azeroth and Tortollan reps where WAAAAYYYY behind the others. (Who i think i'm exalted with now). Its just became a REAL grind. However...i'm not a player who really bothers with world quests. Unless I have a specific reason to do them, i'm not really interested. I'll play arena, m+ or bgs instead, Same as Mechagon. I've been there once, done all but the last quest in the story chain and haven't really made the effort to go back. I WILL play through Nazjatar, but the issue I have atm is I play with Warmode On (because i'm not a coward) and EVERYBODY can fly so I get jumped all the damn time because I have to run. Its really the only reason I want to get flying so I dont have to worry about monsters from above lol.
  13. I don't really mind not being able to fly in the previous expansions. There's very few reasons why you need to travel back to those zones, outside of grinding rep for the race unlocks and achievement hunting. Which if your doing that, you'll make it work one way or the other. I will admit however...it has been an absolute nightmare getting flying in BFA. I'm (at work currently) 213 rep away from Honoured with the tortollan which is the LAST thing I need to unlock flying. I intend to and will likely NEVER do another tortollan quest once i'm hit that mark, that's not because I don't want the rep, but more because they have been the MOST repetitive and boring quests. For a faction with such a key requirement to a feature of the game....they made 3 world/daily quests...come on...that's not enough. Also...the best thing in the world...guild members who can fly and have 2 person mounts... #CastsSummonNobleSteed
  14. I'm just deep down hoping that A) N'Zoth is not the last 'big bad' of the expansion and B) Sylv is not the last BIG BAD of the expansion because I think they both deserve more content and or story exploration. Rumours I saw was that it'd be a raid in Silithus. But half of the stuff on there make literally NO SENSE. It even briefly mentions Illidan being there. I have also heard, so take it what you will, that there might not even be an 8.3.
  15. I think for me, the story was really cool. They put a lot of effort in telling a continuous story from start to finish. It didn't really feel like they tact on randomn 'major' plot points that didn't connect to what was actually happening from the start. What disappointed me about this 'mini-patch' was the ending was kinda lacklustre. Outside of the cinematic the last part of the war campaign felt like an afterthought which is disappointing. I suspect we will get a final 'big' update that will setup the next expansion (I assume they will announce it in November at Blizzcon). I all kinda just...ended.
  16. The fact that 'Last of Us' is so far down the list is a tragedy
  17. Oh...my my..that seems alright. Got promoted with 5 games to go...Coventry squad did that thing they seem to do where they become GODS on the pitch. Wage budget is gonna kill me in the Premier League as this is still maybe in the bottom 6 of the Championship wage bill list in my current game.
  18. Will probably do a more complete update a little later. But 4 games into the season we are in the playoffs with only 1 loss to date. Coventry have also now bplayed 8 games in the EuroCup qualifiers and after stomping Fevernavos(spelling) and IFKJ 9swedish team) we got Roma in the 4th Rd Qualifier. 2-1 loss away gave us hope...the 1-0 will at the Ricoh saw us go through the round...EURO HYPE!! I also brought in WAY to many players...
  19. So, I finished my third season with Coventry and despite the fact I had the intention of probably leaving the club to pastures new....i'm going to be staying now. My disappointingly up and down season continued throughout the whole season, moments of absolute skill pocketed by absolute trash. That being said... Pretty awesome climb up the table saw us into 5th position and the playoffs, a final was set against Leeds Utd and.....we lost on penalties after a depressing 0-0 draw (my teams ability to draw, and fail to win matches was a record to behold with 18 in all competitions this season), these draws much like the final against Leeds cost us a better position in the league. if you'll cast an eye on our schedule it re-iterates our ability to beat the teams we shouldn't and lose to ANY of the teams below us, again being unable to react to the apparent pressure game from lower opponents (my fault) cost us a lot of dropped points. HOWEVER....if you cast an eye about half way up the table...you'll see a delightful game in the Carabao cup...the final against Chelsea to be exact... Which we went on to win on penalties. This was by far the BIGGEST surprise of the season, I went with a 4-2-3-1 formation and kept everything on the counter. To say it was a success, would be a lie, we got absolutely battered, this has been far our go to formations when playing higher opposition and one that often's see's us struggle against the lower. Penalties would be the order of the day and they just fell apart, maybe the pressure was to much or maybe we did something to appease the gods of luck. Coventry are in the Euro Cup next season lads...and I'm stuck here for another season because...i mean, i have European football to look forward to. Preseason 20/21 is well under way and I've gone about overhauling the ENTIRE first team. We've been graced with £5 million to spend in the transfer market and about £200,000 in wages. (we are still in the bottom 5 of wages in the championship so I'm going to struggle to bring in the BIG names. Previously I've been propping up my team with a series of 24 and under signings and looking to prepare them for the future, this season however I think I need a bit more experience in the squad so have opened the doors to some 'older' players. Our biggest signing so far has been Morgan Fox from Wigan for £1.5m, brought in take the spot at left back previously held by Sam Hart (who himself had replaced Junior Brown). Sam although easily first choice last season was probably not going to be enough to push on higher up the table (though with a team predicted to be in the relegation battle for two seasons) i'm not sure if that's true. Our other most interesting signing was Andre Wisdom coming in on a free from Derby (who got promoted), he'll give us experience at centre back and hopefully help plug the goals that we can't seem to keep out for the ENTIRETY of the last season. I reluctantly sold Jordy Hiwula to Portsmouth, however he had 1 year left on his contract in addition to earning 8k a week was going to be replaced within the year so..i'll take a few upset players to move him on. So...its a new season, a new and hopefully stronger squad, lets see where we go shall we?
  20. See, that's what I thought was happening but in the 3 games I repeatedly changed to formations where I kept more players back and I've even retrained two of my centre-backs to stay back at all times. Still constantly out numbered at the back...especially when one of the players retrained to stay back at all times (and to sit on the halfway line at corners....) still is out of position. My 'winning' formation is 4-2-3-1 (wingbacks), its attack minded and works 8/10 times against higher placed opposition, when i noticed it wasn't working against the teams lower down the table and i was getting overrun, I changed to 5-2-2-1 (wingbacks) playing balanced...still didn't appear to make a lick of difference. 2nd half of almost every game, sometimes regardless of formation, we turn into a sunday league team. To the point that some of my TOP performers are just (and i mean this literally) just passing the ball to opposition players. Like, not into space and the opposition just intercept, hitting directly to the opponent when NONE of my players are nearby.
  21. Is it wrong to want to cry because Football Manager is bullying you? Like legitimately I cannot buy a good performance against ANY team lower in the league than me. I know i mentioned it before, but i'm consistently losing against the bottom 5 teams and they are HAMMERING goals in...like 5-0- 6-1 and 7-0.....I was sixth in the league....like fuk off game that's NOT REALISTIC AT ALL. each game I dropped players into defence and it was like the opposition...was Barcelona...every time... I played 7th placed Everton (prem) and beat them 3-1....underpresuure loads but got the victory...then lost the next three games by a combined 18 goals.... 😭 I think I also find it frustrating how often teams will score 2-3 goals in the space of 1 minute against me...like my entire team jsut decides...pass the ball to the opposition at kickoff and then stand still..woo...football
  22. So my Coventry team...after having a drubbing (6-2 against bottom placed Birmingham)have now gone on a 9 game undefeated streak with 7 wins, 2 draws and find ourselves bouncing between 2nd and 3rd in the League. A 1-0 loss to 1st Placed Leeds was avenged a week later with a 4-1 victory against then 1st placed Barnsley..i'm enjoying the ride while I can as I know itsjust a matter of waiting for WHEN its going to collapse rather than if. I know i'm not going to stay at Coventry long term. I've already been offered an interview for the Rangers, Sunderland & Everton Jobs (between the end of last season and the Summer - side note: Gerrard is now the Villa manager), so i know that I've done well enough as a manager to gain some traction with prospective employers. My main reason is the finances, short of a takeover I don't know how I can get them out of the mess they are in. They constantly reject coach training courses, refuse to get affiliates or expand facilities and I can only really maintain the form of the team with free transfers, without picking up some AMAZING and CHEAP talent there is no way to don't go into the prem and immediately get relegated.
  23. Convinced this game wants me to smash up my computer. Play ANY team in the league whose placed in a simliar position or above and i smash em. Play ANY team near the bottom of the league or in ANY lower league...and I get dominated...like 60-40 possession and 20-5 shots.... I'd love to know the fuk i'm doing wrong. Bottom placed Birmingham, playing Cov (6th in the league after 10 games) and i just got routed 6-2....having been leading 2-0 at half time..
  24. Started season 3 with Cov. Won the 1st game of the season 2-0, Drew the 2nd 2-2...Lost the 3rd 3-2. wait a second...there's a pattern here. Also Port Vale (mid table league two atm) in the 1st Round of the Carabao cup...played a fairly strong team...(Its the first team but this time with the subs starting :-O)...barely scrapped through on penalises.... For a team that scored 6 goals in 3 games...I had 6 shots on goal (5 on target) too their 18 (10 on target)..I say again..fuk this game!
