  1. I think a good way to solve new tag teams is to simply not add any team under 10 experience. If we cannot say they have, or will have 10 tag matches together, there is no point in adding them to the data.

Say for example, Santino and Khali. They have teamed together on recent Raws and even a PPV, but I don't feel they need to be added, if they team semi regularly for the next month, then okay, maybe they should be added.

It would eliminate adding teams that were together once or twice and then never again. I don't think someone not having a team with 1 experience going into the game is going to be a game changer, and they could always just create it themselves if it is that important, but in the long run, it would prevent having a huge number of tag teams with no experience and make it much easier to go through the tag team section in game.

  2. Even if the arguement is "someone might use them" there are a TON of people they can use, why not take out the ones that we can confirm don't even wrestle anymore? I'm sure there is someone with similar stats to all of them, so they only benefit of having them would be "well I like this guys name more, so I'll use him instead".

There is absolutely no lack of workers to use for any type of game. Even if it becomes an issue because we get rid a few, more are getting added as time goes one.

  3. I suggested a bunch of guys in the stats update thread that have all announced their retiredment or haven't been around in years and are very unlikely to ever come back in any significant way, but people don't want to cut them from the game.

I'm not suggesting guys that had big runs and haven't wrestled in a while, I'm talking indy wrestlers with like 10 overness that haven't stepped in a ring in years and likely never will again. If they do, I don't think anybody is going to be chomping at the bit to use Ryan Wood in their game.

  4. Some of the relationships fall and aren't as good as they once was and some stay strong. CM Punk for instance is pretty loyal and didn't need to say put over Chris Hero, Raven and Samoa Joe on his Best in the World dvd but he did. Why because he is true to his friends. He insisted Joey Mercury and Luke Gallows being in the SES for the same reason rather than some random guys for the same reason. Mike Quackenbush is another case who is loyal to his students (taking from the Japanese logic.) Now say Sami Zayn (for example) is not as loyal to his all of friends.

To me the problem is you can run any side of this spectrum so for every Quackenbush there is a true loyalty, there is another trainer who isn't.

    The hell does that mean?

Basically unlike Punk who is annoyed when friends get fired, Zayn's like oh well, it's no big deal. Of course, I don't know if it's true or not.

Friendships in wrestling is an odd subject. Even if your best friend gets fired you often cannot do much about it. That's like saying Paul London and Brian Kendrick aren't true friends because the other stayed when their friend got fired when they really have no way to change the situation.

If anything, I would say Zayn is more loyal to his friends than Quack is to his students.

  5. I'm not sure about playability problems - it's been years since I last played EWR at all - but it can take an age to load if there's too much data in there, and when half that data is expendable, then why keep it?

Which brings me to something else that really needs addressing; relationships. It's another thing that constantly gets added, or at least suggested, to EWR stats updates with very little regard to the actual gameplay mechanics. Just because Wrestler X said he liked Wrestler Y in an interview doesn't warrant a friendship relationship, and not everybody who's ever appeared on Art Of Wrestling should have a friendship relationship with Colt Cabana. It should entirely come down to what these relationships affect in the game, and how feasible they are.

Not to mention that, in running monthly updates, there's always the chance of running up a backlog of "relationships" that are completely false. A dirtsheet mentions that two guys don't like each other, it's added to the database. Six months later, it's a complete non-issue, and was probably never true in the first place, yet the relationship is still there.

Perfect case in point Homicide and Dan Maff. Maff and Cide had a true legit falling out in March 2005 and basically blackballed him with any promoter who worked with Homicide. Maff and Cide eventually got on speaking terms (longer than six months) when Cide couldn't work JAPW as often due to TNA commitments and brought back Maff into JAPW. However this wasn't public knowledge for along time (thanks to the recent event at an ICW show where they had a Mega Powers Handshake moment.)

Some of the relationships fall and aren't as good as they once was and some stay strong. CM Punk for instance is pretty loyal and didn't need to say put over Chris Hero, Raven and Samoa Joe on his Best in the World dvd but he did. Why because he is true to his friends. 6. Here is my view.

We know what Shooting effects so we should work around that.

Just because someone has potential or competed in another sport doesn't mean they know how to shoot. If Inoki opened a real promotion he would not go "I think Damien Sandow could have a future in MMA, I'm going to hire him right now!". He is not going to go "Kofi Kingston played College Football, I'm going to hire him!" He isn't even going to go "Al Snow can shoot on people, I'm going to hire him!"

Any decently trained wrestler knows how to shoot wrestle (as in do things for real). I know a ton of submission and how to do them safely and how to actually break bones if I wanted to put a bit of pressure on them. I would not give myself shooting. Al Snow, who trained me, is the same way. He can do a ton of shoot wrestling but he is not a shooter. There is a huge difference in it.

I believe shooting should go to those who actually deserve it, that would be hired by Pride or be hired by an "MMA Style" promotion. That is not your amateur wrestlers, football players or althletes. It should go to people who have serious MMA training. Obviously the guys who have partaken in inactual fights and guys we can confirm have legitimate training.

An extreme example would be Mike Bailey. He does Tae Kwon Do and competes regularly at a high level. However, even with that background I wouldn't even suggest shooting for him since he wouldn't fit the mold for either an MMA promotion or Pride.

Also, just because they work that kind of style I wouldn't give them shooting, because a ton of people can do that.

  7. First off, what is the promotion cap in the game? 30 or 32? If its 32 I could suggest new promotions.

Rename Alex York to Alessandro Del Bruno and raise his speed to 73.

Raise Josh Alexanders Over to 35, Brawl to 71, Technical to 48 and Charisma to 63

Raise Mike Rollins' Brawl to 54 and lower his speed to 41

Raise Scotty O'Shea's Brawl to 56

Raise Sebatian Suave's Over to 18. Raise his Brawl to 51 and Tech to 58. Lower his speed to 48

Raise Tyson Dux's Over to 31

Raise Xandra Bale's Speed to 36

Tick High Spots for Addy Starr

Rename El Sombra to Marcus Marquez

Raise Ethan Pages Over to 36, Speed to 40, Brawl to 66 and Charisma to 67

Raise Giant Tiger's Speed to 36 and Tech to 24 since he actually wrestles now

Rename Markos Estrada to Marko Estrada (looks like a typo)

Rename Maximus Primal to Damien Styles

Raise Michael Von Payton's Over to 21 and his Tech to 73

    Rename Moostafa to Lucky Sabiti

Raise Player Dos' Brawl to 43 and his Tech to 58

Raise Player Uno's Speed to 63

Remove Shooting Ability for Sexxxy Eddy

Raise Shayne Hawke's brawl to 58

Rename The Nazi Destructor to Logan Savage

Rename Pierre Shadows to Pierre Khoury

Lower The Amazing Darkstone's Over to 11 he barely wrestles anymore

Remove Player Dos Alter Ego "Stuart Philip Fiyed" because I have no idea where that came from

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Create a Love between Portia Perez and Archibald Peck/RD Evans

Create a friendship between Ethan Page and Josh Alexander

Create a Loyalty between Twiggy and Giant Tiger

Create a Friendship between Kevin Steen and Player Uno/Player Dos

Remove Love relationship between Cherry Bomb and Derek Wyled and create one between Cherry Bomb and Pepper Parks

Remove Love relationship between Mademoiselle Rachelle and Chakal

Remove Loyalty relationship between Rip Impact and Ultimo Dragon

Remove Love relationship between Vanessa Kraven and Scott Parker

Remove Love relationship between Candace LeRae and Kassius Ohno

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Tag Teams:

Add Checkmate (Chris Bishop and Lionel Knight) with 50 experience (they've been a team for years)
Rename The Gym Rats to Gym Rats 2.0 and raise tag experience to 35

Raise Monster Mafia experience to 15

Raise Super Smash Brothers Experience to 80

    Remove Addy Starr and Xandra

    Deactive All-Starters

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remove Pornstar Juan, Joey Fitzmorris and Steve, both are already in the data under other names. Remove Iron Sheep, it was a 1 time gimmick.

This list have all announced their retirement or cannot wrestle due to injury.

    Sunny War Cloud

    Pierre Carl Ouelette

    Moohamed

Max Boyer (came back but got reinjured, may come back again though)

Kenny the Bastard (Will likely never walk again, let alone wrestle)

    21st Century Fox

    Jayson Cypress

    Holly Hilton

Elsa Bangz (at minimum remove Love relation with Beef Wellington, he is married).

The following I do not believe have wrestled in years and may need to be removed

Brian the Guppie (I would 100% remove him).

    Vane

    Viking

    The Hacker

    The Arsenal

    Pat Hamilton

    Josianne the Pussycat

    Hardcore Ninja #1

    Hardcore Ninja #2

    Exess

    Dave Tripps

    Danyah

    Bang Bang Pete

    James Champagne

    Osirus

    Ryan Wood

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Squared Circle Wrestling is a strange one, since it needs a massive overhaul or to be swapped out completely. If it is to be kept...

Remove: Bang Bang Pete, Crazzy Steve, Derek Wylde, El Tornado, Jake O'Reilly, James Champagne, Jayson Cypress, Pepper Parks, RJ City, Robbie McAllister, Turcan Celik, Sebastian Suave

Add: Louis Lyndon, Flip Kendrick, El Sombra/Marcus Marquez and Black Serpent

This would change the roster size from 37 to 25 if my count is right. A lot of guys they use would not have enough contracts or need to be created.

  8. If we are going on the assumption that shooting only effects Pride, then there is so point in even touching it. You could leave it as is and nothing in game will be effected so deleting them all is a waste of time.

However, if we want to assume that "Prefers MMA" owners will take it into account, then we should be realistic. That promoters would not book Kofi Kingston because he played football. If you want to look at it that way you should restrict people who have had some involvement with MMA. Guys like Jack Swagger, while he has catch wrestling experience, I would highly doubt we be used in a "MMA style" promotion, where as someone like Kyle O'Reilly, who wrestles that style would be.

It's super hard to determine who would fit into "shooting" especially since we do not know exactly the purpose of it in game. People do need to let go of the realism of certain stats since they don't reflect how the game is made. My personal view is if you want to assume it effects owners, then look at who has either had MMA experience or would fit into an MMA style promotion and not focus on "he wrestled in high school" or "he played football".

  9. Really? I don't remember that from ewr, but I trust you so I guess I'm wrong about that.

Its weird because Pride never had a womans division and that is what the shooting tick is for so it would make sense for women to not be able to tour with Pride. But it has been a long time since I have played original ewr so I humbly retract statement. My apologies for the misinformation.

Here's my earlier question... How do you know that the shooting tick is only for PRIDE? I've never seen or heard this anywhere before. Keep in mind, one of the owners' "Preferences" is Mixed Martial Arts. I'd have to think that if you set an owner to that and they took over a promotion, they would look for workers with shooting ticked as well. This is why Shimmer and NCW-FF (women's promotions) have their owners set to "Prefers T And A." While Shimmer and NCW-FF aren't really "T and A" promotions, that leads owners with that preference to hire women.

I just am finding it very hard to believe that shooting was added to the worker statistics for the sole purpose of determining whether or not one of the Japanese promotions would hire them.

I just want to say I find it hilarious that NCW, a promotion that has been running consistantly for over 20 years is not in the game, while their side project is.

Help with stats, rosters, photos and the like to get them included?

I would suggest C*4, Alpha-1, Battlewar or NSPW to get in before NCW, although all 4 of them would have issues with a chunk of the roster already having 3 contracts.

I just find it funny seeing as Femme Fatale is the side project and way more important/recognized despite only having a few shows a year while NCW run super frequently and isn't barely recognized outside of itself.

  11. Here is the truth on Cagematch. What they do, is they take data from promotions roster pages and straight copy and paste it. Which is fine, they provide a lot of infomation. However, the fact of the matter is that this information gets outdated.

Take even me for example, they took my information from a website that hasn't been active in over 2 years. It lists my finisher as a move I haven't won a match with in over 2 years. Eddie Osborne did used to weigh 211 lbs, now he is probably closer to 250 at last I saw him a few months ago. Of course I am not trying to make a big deal out of 1 guys weight, I am trying to point out as a whole that relying on cagematch is not the best idea, especially when it comes to someone you are not the slightest bit familiar with. And telling me I'm wrong because the internet says just further proves it since my source is being in the same room as them.

If we are trying to make the data more accurate, maybe changes shouldn't be suggested because you google searched someone you don't know.

Nope, I still go by cagematch and that wrestlingdata page. As for who I think deserves shooting ticked, it still stands.

And seriously dude, as pointed out the Shooting mechanic does absoltely zero in game. As in, you could have everybody checked or nobody checked and it won't ever make a single difference in the game ever. Despite what you believe or do not believe counts as shooting, none of it matters to EWR post Pride FC closing, therefore is pointless to even suggest or talk about.

Also, by your standards, check Shooting for Player Uno because we were taught how to shoot wrestle and he can beat me in it 9 times out of 10.

  12. Look, let's just break this down in real terms right now:

The only thing 'shooting ability' does is determine whether or not someone can work for PRIDE.

No one in the current database can work for PRIDE because it no longer exists.

Therefore, untick the 'shooting ability' box for every single worker.

    Problem solved!

I have the best solution! Just leave it ticked for who has it, and don't bother ticking it for anyone else in the future since the stat is completely useless in game now. Why argue or put a ton of work into something that does absolutely nothing what so ever?

  13. With the strange EXP Shrare overpowerness, I'm raising a team of like 12. Off the top of my head I have a Chespin, Wartortle, Fletchling (whatever it evolves into), Skiddo, Sandile, Hawklucha, The Ice Fossil, Axew, Litleo, Seviper and Pacham. I just beat the 2nd gym and they were all arond the same level as the leader, so I just switch around as needed.

  14. I may be late!

    1) Poor Unfortunate Soul - Little Mermaid
    2) Be Prepared - Lion King

    3) I'll Make a Man Out of You - Mulan
    4) Poor Provincial Town - Beauty and the Beast
    5) Everybody Wants to be a Cat - The Aristocats
    6) Prince Ali - Aladdin
    7) I Wanna Be Like You - Jungle Book
    8) Kill the Beast - Beauty and the Beast
    9) Go the Distance - Hercules
    10) A Whole New World - Aladdin

  15. I cant view youtube at work, so I can't see what most of the songs being talked about are.

My personal favorite Disney song that gets not nearly enought love is "Poor Unfortunate Souls" from The Little Mermaid.

Kill the Beast from Beauty and the Beast is wondeful as well.
